Toast Warren Tredrea - Elected to the Port Board (Football discussion only)

Interesting to see some of the thoughts of the non-Tredders side, but I think they miss the point a little, as if we have an opportunity to clean house and reestablish the club's leadership.

We don't. But Tredders is the voice of change from a ballot of 2, voted by members. So it's the best option we've had to try and do something, anything to have some hope of change. After over a decade of an unsuccessful Chairman/Coach combo that is fighting to the death and locked themselves in for at least 2 more years.

Did you mean to mark that up in 48pt Sarcastica-troll?

Carn.

You’d sacrifice half the supporter base’s mental health for the Reich’s objectives? That is unarguably worse than the Essendope regime which only took liberties with player and staff health.

Ethics FFS. What a time on this forum.

I think everyone is hoping for accountability that has been lacking since 2015. I hope Tredrea pushes the accountability and transparency agenda back into the board and shift the focus back to on-field success.

We know he will.

We also know that he's just one person.

But voting for Tredrea is at least knowing there is one person at the club that actually cares for this so that we don't go unheard.

The Kornes/Edmund chat on SEN this morning mentioned that Peter Burgoyne (ie father of a current player) is backing Tredrea, so that will probably be blown up into "POWER PLAYERS IN UGLY SPLIT OVER BOARD VOTE" by our esteemed footy media.

The Burgoyne-Cornes shenanigans continue :/

I would yes, I’d rather my club won premierships than anything else.
It would also be fantastic for my mental health.

In your extreme analogy I’d be happier the club winning for the 50% that want to win rather than the 50% that don’t care. It’s a footy club. To use your hyperbole, why should the 50% who care about premierships have their mental health suffer?

The other stuff can be dealt with by people who know what they’re doing.

The supporter base's mental health has already been decimated by the past 11 years.

I'd rather be a QAnon conspiracy theorist than a Hinkley defender. Far closer to living in reality.

Both these mental states are bad, but one is far more likely to result in "harm to others". In a world full of religions and superstitions, how close your two options are to "reality" is probably ethically beside the point.

Speaking of reality, my guess is a small subset of Stinkley Koch regime defenders might be able to make a rational case for it but their premises are all wrong. Their idea of "good" for PAFC - steady-ish mediocrity and maybe we stumble upon a flag one time in a million out of dumb hard work and luck - is not what we were, nor is it what a lot of us still think we can be.

The follow up exchange with Esky makes my reasoning clearer. We don't live in a vacuum.

Sadly more than a week left.
Less than a week. Voting closes 5pm Wednesday and supposedly the result will be announced at AGM on Friday night, but you can bet the result will come out, sometime Wednesday night.

Imagine if a player came out in support of Tredrea.

Chris Davies would be at AFL House the very next day presenting a 500 page thesis on why a mid season trade period needs to be introduced this year not next.

What an amazing football club full of people of the highest integrity.
Do it Pep
