I understand we want a smart football person on the board to question the status quo and ultimately, develop a plan to replace Hinkley. Tredrea is clearly that. But I don't think you can ring fence footy decisions from the other decisions at a board level.

What happens if there is a need to investigate a serious sexual assault or coward violence matter? Tredrea literally follows Andrew Tate FFS.

What happens if there is a need to develop a strategy in response to a concussion policy that has medical ramifications? Tredrea is a documented disbeliever of qualified medical professionals

What happens if there is a need to develop an assessment of our risk profile that is reliant on scientific advice and research? Tredrea is documented as being a climate change sceptic.

What happens when we need to have public relations strategy to manage a delicate and/or confidential matter with the media? Tredrea is into that weird all media is evil type thinking

What happens if there is a commercial and litigation based issue which the club needs to make astute tactical decisions on? Tredrea has made some very dumb public decisions in this space.

It's not about politics. It's about professional judgement and risk.

All in all, the blokes a dumb campaigner, as much as he was legend of a footballer and is aligned with what many (me included) want RE Hinkley coaching, to me, the ends still don't justify the means and there is simply too much risk.

Independent football review committee - put him on there. Coaching review and audit - sign him up.

Board position? I want someone that can shake the football operations up AND provide smart, strategic, commercial, risk aware governance and leadership. The club deserves that.

Disappointed that there weren't other options but am hopeful that if Tredrea is in there the checks and balances can be put in place to prevent him from putting the club into an even worse position than it is now.
That’s why there’s a board and not a dictatorship.

Though at the moment Koch has way too much influence, so someone like Tredrea will hopefully break that monopoly a little.

So all your worries would be alleviated by a dissenting voice, not caused.

Don't worry about all of that garbage.

Tredders is going to be on the board for winning and ruthlessness.

We need at least one guy at the club into that.

Liked a post about Kochie and Natalie Barr going to jail for being part of the 'MSM' and promoting vaccines
climate change denial
chemtrail
vote NO if you don't want to lose your property to the UN
thinks Trump is secretly still president because he travelled somewhere with a motorcade
loves pauline hanson and craig kelly

yea i think hes probably cooked... i'd still vote for him if I was a member though. hopefully he can get Kochie arrested.
What’s wrong with liking posts/images of Kochie being arrested? It’s some of the Internet’s finest work.

When does voting end and 'winner' announced?

Voting closes 5pm next Wednesday.
Winner announced at the AGM on the Friday night, though I suspect it will leak out before then.

Share some of these concerns but voted for him instead of Abba, this time around. I wonder about some of the replies you've got on here, seems fair enough to ask those seeking disruption about guard rails. Prepared to give him a chance to stick to footy and to STFU about other stuff while representing us. Hope the calculated gamble pays off. Disrupt too-comfortable elements in the footy department, but don't "chaos the club". The one guard rail, if I have it right, is the AFL power to unilaterally remove a club director if they go off the rails. Don't want to contemplate Koch's smug mug announcing that.

Yeah agree, if it was for chairman or CEO I'd be much more concerned.

My overall point was that both options are shit and the club deserves better than deciding between lunacy and incompetence - which when it boils down to it, is the true nature of the choice.

We've been so beaten down for so long that not only are we willing to accept what is perceived to be the lesser of two evils - lunacy - we're actually excited about it.

Sad times.

More than fair and many of the replies are just typical football forum bullshit, no drams with me

Haha people actually think Tredrea is too crazy to go on the board? We have people on the board that know nothing about football yet our only AFL premiership captain isnt a good fit? Its a football club board he is there for his football experience which we are sorely lacking.

If you only want to vote for someone who you agree with 100% of all their views then you will never be happy.

You got me curious on that one... Some of the tweets he's liked were very much in the yikes basket.

Liking a fake quote from Kurt Cobain "predicting" Donald Trump would one day be president and that he would be a hero of the people gave me a chuckle though.

A concerned chuckle, but a chuckle all the same.

Still... Port needs him so we can hopefully spark even a modicum of change.
