Was a toss up between Curtin and Sanders here for the Dogs. However I think from a needs point of view the Dogs need a Sanders type that can give them some drive out of the Centre Square.
Also looking after the Norf Nuffie that split his picks anyway.

Pick 7 Bulldogs Select Ryley Sanders

AsterixTheGaul you are back up.

So with pick 6 now 8, I want a KPD. But do I want a Pav? Or do I want a Bont?

No doubts for me, at pick 8, Norf are taking Daniel Curtin.

He has gotten some bad publicity as those Melbourne media dipsticks have been reporting that the Eagles will give up 1 to get him. I have no doubt that this guy is good and he will settle in Arden Street and help change the culture.

I think GWS’ pick is where the top tier of draftees finish, going off media pundits and the general consensus on here so I was always going to take whoever was left over from the choices made so far. GWS having a well rounded list in my view just makes it easier to take best available and that best available being Connor O’Sullivan.

SNAPSHOT: “A versatile tall who can play any position on the ground, Connor O’Sullivan is composed in possession and aerially prominent from contest to contest.”

Murray Bushrangers prospect Connor O’Sullivan shot up draft boards in a big way during this year’s National Championships, taking out MVP honours in the title-winning Allies side. Doing so from such a stacked field was no mean feat, with the Albury product clearly playing his best footy this year at the highest level possible.

O’Sullivan came into the year off a promising bottom-aged campaign where he played 10 games for Murray, represented NSW-ACT at Under 17 level, and was selected in the Futures showcase on AFL Grand Final day. Predominantly, he was utilised as a tall defender and forward, with his aerial ability impressive most.

Fast-forward to 2023, and the AFL Academy member found himself attending centre bounces in Round 1, also spending time up forward before eventually finding a home down back. There, he earned All-Australian honours and was named in the Coates Talent League Team of the Year.

Having catapulted his name into top 10 contention, the 18-year-old was duly invited to the National Draft Combine and showcased his high level running capacity in the 2km time trial. He’s one of a couple of Bushrangers expected to feature at the pointy end of the intake, alongside midfielder Darcy Wilson.

AsterixTheGaul youre up again

Gold Coast need 1787 points to match the Read bid

Pick 31 - 606 points
Pick 35 - 522 points
Pick 37 - 483 points
Pick 55 - 207 points

Leaves a surplus of 31 points equivalent to pick 71

Keys - did you get many offers for you picks in the 20’s

Suns will have loads of offers on draft night and will more than make up for any early bids

Things moved a bit quick so no reply to trade offers forthcoming

Unlike on draft night when the suns will have a few suitors for those R2 picks

If I had of been able to participate...I 100% would have.
Love watching everyone maneuver too. You've set the Kangas up very well.

I'm hoping the mighty Eagles still have something working away in the background too.

As a lawyer myself maybe he should be the one counting his fingers.
My Granddad was a carpenter who was minus a little and half an index finger on one hand.

As a kid he told me that he shook hands with a lawyer and it was only when he got home that he realised he was missing 1 1/2 fingers. Of course as a kid I believed him.
It took my less gullible older sister (who also destroyed my belief in Santa, the Easter Bunny and God) to set me right.

ATG is a canny trader and negotiator in real life, thats why he got to retire at an age most dream about.

So if you have been trading with him, I hope that you counted your fingers after, you shook hands on the deal.
I have heard ATG was instrumental in the Ratugolea trade this year, convinced Geelong to hold out for picks 76 and 94 cause ‘every pick counts’. Any truth to this rumour concerning ATG?

Go and wash yourself - giving support to the BODE. Never stoop that low.

Or was it that I just can't stand Port and wanted to get back at them? Or was it that I wanted to give a heave ho to the dill do? Or was it all three?

Your sister sounds like the life of the party.

Norf have next pick and are looking for a KPD as we have a KPF and not sure whether Curtin is a KPD or a Bont.

Therefore we place a bid on Croft.

Keys Dogs will match on any Jordan Croft bid.

Reading that CountryLad has posted earlier today he will match the bid, I will then go to my next KPD and place a bid on Will McCabe.

Over to Hawks Miguel Sanchez to let me have him or match the bid

I miss when the draft was simple.
Club academies should be abolished and they become state based AFL Academies. These kids still get their pathway into the AFL but they aren't tied to any club and go into the open draft.

Bidding/matching only occurs for father/son prospects and the draft becomes much much less compromised.
