Just having a look through our list, and since most of us as supporters have pushed aside this season as "not our year," there's no better time to look at where we are going. What do you think our 2015 side will look like? and where do you think it's going from there? I have included the ages of the players in mine just so to get a better look at where players may be in their development.
B: WILSON (AGE: 23) MCKENZIE (AGE: 27) HURN (AGE: 27)
HB: WATERS (AGE: 29) BRENNAN (AGE: 25) MCGINNITY (AGE: 26)
C: WELLINGHAM (AGE: 27) PRIDDIS (AGE: 30) GAFF (AGE: 23)
HF: DICK (AGE: 27) KENNEDY (AGE: 28) HILL (AGE: 26)
F: LECRAS (AGE: 29) SINCLAIR (AGE: 26) DARLING (AGE: 23)
FOL: NIC NAT (AGE: 25) SHUEY (AGE: 25) MASTEN (AGE:26)
INT: HUTCHINGS (AGE: 24) DALZIELL (AGE: 28) SELWOOD (AGE: 25) MCGOVERN (AGE 23)
EMG: NEWMAN (AGE: 22)
RETIRED:
COX
EMBLEY
KERR
A SELWOOD
TRADED:
BROWN
BUTLER (Possibly in search of a pro longed career. Rosa is another chance too)
SUMMARY:
Priddis, Waters, Lecras almost at the end of it. Priddis is more of an inside player anyway so he should still be playing good footy. Waters injuries may have taken a toll by 29, so let's see what happens there and Lecras should still be playing good footy. With Mckenzie and Hurn at 27 we will need to see some significant development with some younger defenders coming through because by 2017 Waters, Mckenzie and Hurn will be gone or nearing the end. It's amazing to think Darling will still only be 23 (unbelievable even) and could potentially be one of the games biggest stars by that point. Our midfield looks great and should be at the peak of its development. Nic Nat, Shuey, Masten all at 25-26 years of age, with Gaff and Hutchings at 23 and 24. Dalziell will be 28, and with several years of footy under his belt should be playing reasonably. Don't know where Lycett fits in, it's really a fight between Sinclair and him to see who gets that number 2 ruckman spot.
Actually pretty happy with the side. Woosha won't be in charge of course, so I think we could still give it a shake up in 2015.
