Hey guys. Dropped another 2kgs this week.

I saw a photo of a guy who used to be really heavy now he has lost 50 plus kgs and has so much saggy skin it actually looks worse than being heavy. After theee days of googling these images, a) will this happen to me and b) if so how do i avoid such a terrible side effect of weight loss

Finally, after two resets of 5/3/1 hit 100kg Front Squat for more then 1 rep. Stopped at 2, but felt light and could probably have done another couple. Finishing up fifth cycle this week, before going back 3 (doing 5 forward 3 back now).

Still first time in months I've felt like I'm not treading water in the gym.

ah thank you, I am losing roughly 2kgs a week, is this too many?

Not at all, it just shows its weight you shouldn't have on you. If you were losing 4-6kg a week Biggest Loser style that would be an issue. Keep doing what you are doing its working!

Anyone ever tried a german volume set of 10X10. Going to try after the high intensity stuff.

On another note: Is crossfit becoming one of the dirtiest sports?

I'll admit I love watching the girls doing crossfit, but seriously the number of them that are clearly on the juice is astonishing. There are at least a handful of girls that are just too big and lean to be natural. Particularly when you start comparing them to professional athletes with 5-10 years on them. Saw a video with two top ranking girls who's voices have changed so much in like a year, along with massive volume increases. I also saw an article where a guy in the know said you're an idiot if you get caught taking drugs because they are so advanced in beating detection.

Its kinda a bullshit sport for people to idolize and want to reach the top if its tainted.

Hey guys, thinking about following this training program, seems pretty good.

Thought I would run it through you guys, as you have been awesome help.

I gained 1.2kgs last week :( didnt eat or drink anything bad :(

Weight gain is generally because you're taking in more energy than you're burning. Keep track of your calories/kilojoules to avoid unwanted weight loss or weight gain.

That workout looks exhausting, but as long as the workouts are short as well as intense and you are improving your lifts each week, then that's fine.

i did this about 100 years ago and it can quite hard if you're not conditioned enough in the sense that do you have the work capacity do get through 512 reps per session...i'd look at what have just been doing and add those reps per session will be probably be far lower so you're best working up to it

so your best bet might be to to do 4 x 8 of each exercise and add 1 set each week to each exercise

week 1 - 4 x 8
week 2 - 5 x 8
week 3 - 6 x 8
week 4 - 7 x 8
week 5 - 8 x 8

don't go heavy, it's only 50% ish (which you won't know what it is but that doesn't matter) but this program works on the rest intervals and sticking to them EXACTLY so it's 30secs, not 35 and not 40secs and you MUST get all the reps which is why need to start light because the second most important think is the volume of the program

what? every single week? did your weights go up.....post an example of each week

I didn't go up much in weight to be honest but they hypertrophy gains I got were awesome.

Hence why I didn't continue - I'm not keen on sounding like a super car and turn the corner to find out its a Honda with milo tin on the back.

edit: I kept it really simple, when I could do the 10x10, I went up a couple kgs. When I could do that, up a couple more. Getting all the sets out and majority of the reps in the last 2-3 sets was the important bit from what I read.

That's can happen when dieting to lose body fat. You may have hit a point now where you have to drop calories slightly. Your body is realising what's going, just remember you are fighting against your bodies natural instincts to maintain body weight.

I'd suggest persist another week on the same calories as previous. Don't do anything drastic with increasing training 50% or cutting calories 50%. If you weigh in heavier/the same next week drop 100 calories of your current intake.

Remember weight loss is all about the start and end point (in terms of numbers) although everything in between is bloody tough, you will have ups and downs along the way. The key is too stay consistent.

Hey guys, thanks you all so much for the support.

I am looking at photos of people who have excess skin and it is rather graphic and off putting. As i mentioned i am worried about it.
I didn't mention that the only place on my body that has fat is the stomach and a little on the chest. My legs and arms are skin tight, no fat whatsoever. Does this mean anything? Does it help me avoid it?

If i lose 1-2kg per week i can be at my goal weight of around 90 by years end. I was reading online a guy lost 32 kilos in 6 months and had really horrible excess skin issues.

My current training is
Monday i do lower body
Tuesday upper body both with 10mins of cardiovascular training
Wednesday 1 hr cardiovascular
Thursday lower
Friday upper
weekend rest.

For breakfast I always have eggs, lunch always chicken and rice and dinner varies to what my partner cooks.

I have no obesity in my family history just me putting on 30kgs too many after fracture of my back.

I will be honest i don't have much knowledge of excess skin but as others have said as long as the weight loss is gradual and smaller amounts ( as opposed to 5-7 kgs a week biggest loser style) this will give your skin the best chance to "retract" and tighten as you lose the weight. I would say don't let the excess skin possibility from stopping you from losing the weight.

Your body will dictate where you lose body fat from, it does't really need fat around your arms and lower legs etc but needs it around your vital organs hence why the belly fat is always last to go. Also you can't spot reduce body fat. Just keep diet and training consistent and results will come.

Thanks.

I have no fat anywhere else but my tummy.

So technically my body should lose tummy weight if no other weight to be lost?

Trust me you will still have bodyfat on non essential areas like arms, lower legs. I have been in the ranges of 4% to 20% bodyfat. Your lower stomach fat only really goes when you reach 6-7% maybe 8% bodyfat.

Our bodies aren't precise machines, for example if you undereat by 3500 calories for the week you technically should lose 1kg of bodyfat but it ain't as simple as this the body is far more complex than entering numbers. Likewise losing body is very much the same, all good in theory but for everyone it is different. Firstly how much we have, how and were it is stored, secondly how much is lost whilst dieting and where from.

I've lost about 20kg from my worst (94kg to 74kg @ 178cm) - the skin from my former beer gut has been fine so far, but I'll see how it goes with the last 5kgs.

I figure either way (fat or loose skin) you're going to feel self-conscious with your shirt off, but at least when loose skin is your only problem you can look and feel good in clothes.
