Why the heck not. Take Parfitts spot. Need 14 possies to break even. Looks like he can kick OK. Got some good size about him.

Doesnt really say much about the clubs faith in parfitt does it. Replacing a 25yo with a 25yo. But could happen.

We played someone last weekend with literally 3 VFL games to his name, he should be ready to go.

He still had 6 months to learn our system in offseason though..reckon give hardie a couple of weeks but if our injury list stays this big and his endurance is ok he probably plays afl soon.

Originally from Leeton =he might know I Smith who i think is also from the NSW Riverina - Temora or Junee

I assume he knows jacob hopper given they are both from leeton and born in the same year.

Welcome Mitch.

Looks like a mature, ready to go unit - both an immediate fix to our midfield situation, but with attributes to work with and at 25 not too old to be of possible long term potential.

Interesting insight into the club’s list priorities/concerns - that the need for a mature age mid ranks above the limited number of KPD and ruck options. Might also indicate a ‘take the best player available at that pick’ strategy.

Clear signs of desperation here.
Hoping new recruit works miracles.
Mitch is a potential depth player.
He may be ahead of our kittens ATM.
Still needs to earn a spot via the VFL
Will likely get a chance to impress
It will be up to him to produce.
The future is what you make it.
Good Luck and Welcome Mitch

He still had a whole pre season learning the game plan and played 3 games using it, clubs just dont throw guys straight into the deep end, only MSD pickups to ever play near on immediately are guys that were already at their clubs in the VFL system.

Hardly desperation, its a mid season draft pick, you take a punt and see what you end up with.

Not Mitch as a pick ... but some of the comments made..
even if some sarcasm intended.

If he gets 25 possessions and 7 tackles he can replace both Parfitt and Simpson.

We should fly him DIRECT from SA in Helicopter to land inside the Ground on game time. Brian Peake style.

Yeah, it's a weird comment. By the same token, at 5-4 last year we were 'desperate' for Zane Williams to guide us to premiership glory.

As you say, we have a pick, let's just see what we get.

It makes no difference whether Hardie is a champion or off the list in a few months, the club saw an opportunity to add a player and did so.

I'm sure Port's addition of Narkle reeks of desperation. Clearly after 8 in a row, they're in need of a saviour.

I think it would make a difference if we snagged a champion out thin air via the MSD.

It can’t affect the past but would absolutely make a difference in the future.

Filling a clear hole that has emerged due to injuries = 'desperation'

In his usual style Wells picks some one no body predicted. Basiclly looks like the best midfielder in the state leages this year. Blindingly obvious in hindsite! At at 186 cm and around 85 kg he is a good size and plays inside but gets it on the outside as well. Good luck Mitch hope to see you in the hoops at AFL level soon.

On the Ruck situation, looks like DeKoning, once Sav returns, and maybe Neale are the chosen back up options. For now Ceglar is our guy.
