Is there a reason why Norf took his twin a few picks earlier?

Is Matt the better of them? or is it just Norf being Norf
Jack tended to be rated marginally higher, but Matt is more versatile than Jack, given he has played forward and back as well as rucked a bit, whereas Jack is a forward who rucks a bit.

Given where North are in their development phase, they may have wanted the more versatile twin.

Hope he gets his goal kicking in order. Port has either drafted or recruited tall forwards with questionable goal kicking accuracy.

Then again, poor goal kicking and port go hand-in-hand.

I heard somewhere that Matt is shorter by about 4cm. As you say, probably seen as having more versatility by Norf.

I just love the fact that Jack is saying he wants to prove all the clubs wrong who passed on him. Hope he smashes it and repays Port for life.

He might get pumped up to play Richmond. They didnt pick him about 4 times from around pick 15 onward.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Whitlock gets games next year. We haven’t been afraid in the past to give young beanpole forwards a crack in their first years. Westhoff and Marshall come to mind.

I absolutely see him getting a shot at some point.

I don’t think he’s too far off physically.

3 months in the weight room those shoulders and arms will tone up well.

Jack's Rookie me Central profile from their Top 30 Players to Watch section of their Draft Guide. In their Power Rankings they ranked him 19, Berry 18, Moraes 30 and his brother Matt at 27, which is the pick he was taken at.

Absolutely no reason Whitlock can’t play next season and early on. Calsher Dear managed 17 games and 25 goals this year as a first yet key forward.

Only thing that will limit him is if we can’t improve our forward line and efficiency. He won’t last well if we bomb it to him in a pack. However open up space for him to move as the Hawks did, no reason he can’t play and be effective early.

So what you’re saying is all we need is the coach to come up with a better game plan?

Sounds simple in theory.

I'm drawing a blank on successful #17s Paul Rizonico is the first that springs to mind.

*Edit : Stewie Dew of course would be up there. Had to check, but Clurey would be ok the locker as well.

Martin ****ing Leslie...

And the blue wetsuit material shoulder sleeve...

Peter Woite, Geof Motley (not in that order)

Woite took over 17 from Geof Motley, those were some big shoes to fill.

North tried to trade up for him too

"The wheeling and non-dealing continued on day two, as Richmond put up its first pick of the night for sale. North looked again – this time to reunite the Whitlock twins at Arden Street – and offered two future second-round picks as part of a deal, but the Tigers' held to take Thomas Sims".

Hopefully we've picked the good twin this time unlike the Martin Frederick situation, where we selected the smaller and clearly not as good twin.

It does seem like the Whitlocks will be hard to split though, like the King twins where it is hard to separate them in playing ability and output despite Max being rated slightly higher.

On a side note, i've never really understood fans and players obsession over what number they are wearing, i have no idea why it matters so much. I love Robbie Gray but i still don't understand why he changed from number 17 to 9.

He did his knee and wanted a fresh start.
