Toast Welcome to St Kilda Jackson Macrae

At least spell his name right in the thread title.

Happy to get him especially for the price we paid draft pick wise, he's still a quality midfielder and is a hard working professional.

At the very least he will be able to teach our younger midfielders how to go about it on the field and not off the field like Hanners.

A great signing for us. I have absolutely no doubt that Ross will find a role for him that maximizes his skill set, and rejuvenates his career. Another tidy ball user, who will improve our midfield and forward connection immensely. Hopefully he brings some goodwill from the umps too.

I will absolutely going to miss this great man look after him saints

I'm leaving it.

Anyway, welcome Mr Jackson.

You bloody bandits.😜
Jack was a star for us for a long time.
Really hope he is for the Saints as well, us Bulldog fans just love him.
Always good to bring in a quality like this bloke seems to be. Similar to us likely to lose Membrey, it's nice to see oppo supporters wishing them the best going forward.

He may or may not be the player he was at his pinnacle, but he slots into our list as:

  • The most decorated player (3x AA)
  • Second most games played with 249
  • Most career coaches votes with 405
  • Most career Brownlow votes with 106

Pretty handy guy to have around, hopefully his leadership matches up to his credentials.

He is one of those heart and soul players, selfless , will put his body on the line always.
He is also incredibly consistent.

Only downside , he is an inside mid mainly , not really effective anywhere else.
But loved by both his team mates and the fans.
Sad to see him go, hoping nothing but the best for him.

Also, Ross mentioned this that we needed to get support for Steele in the centre and Macrae will give us that. If it takes some heat of Steele he could go up a level.

You got a quality person in Jack. Club first mentality incredibly consistent and type of player every clubs needs minimal fuss maximum output

Find him a role and he will deliver, surround him with runners and let him do his thing

Most of all take care of him and enjoy him

Go well Jack.

It's a good sign when Bulldogs fans are sad to see Macrae go rather than saying "thank god we got rid of that list clogging spud".

I won't be spelling his name wrong, I'm a stickler for details at spelling players names right.

I even managed to master Koschitzke when other people butchered his name, it was easier to just call him Kosi though.

it makes you look like a nuffie when you spell one of your own players names wrong like Jack Stevens, it's embarrassing.

I remember a few years ago looking very jealously at Jack Macrae racking up the possessions and using it well. Thought to myself that it would be great to have someone like that.

I know he is not quite the same player but he’ll still be quality. I watched him closely this year for a while as he was in my Fantasy teams. His time on ground was down, and they kept him away from the ball quite a bit of the time.

I think he may have had a short preseason due to injury, and was playing catch up. Hopefully a good preseason and an injury free run into the season is ahead. Reckon we’ll see a return someway back to the old Jack Macrae.

Great pick up I reckon. Good luck Jack!

Exactly what we need to replace Crouch.
So no downside for us.
Good to see well wishes from the club he’s departing.
Says a lot about the guy.

Congrats Saints, you will look back on this trade very fondly

Everyone at the Dogs loves Jacko. He is a-grade onfield and off.

He is a pure inside mid so just didn't fit our list anymore, but we want the best for him. He will produce for any club who has that role for him.

I don't think the wider footy community recognises how productive Jacko is. If you rank the top 50 possession getters ever by possessions per game, Jacko ranks #2 of all-time.

Big win for you guys.
