Fits our needs as a small forward with pace and nous around goals. Hopefully bulks up a bit and can add something to our forward line. Will have to work on his defensive pressure to fit our forward press. A good pickup :thumbsu:. Not sure if he's best 22 though

He's not a small forward

I hope we plan to build his tank and use him as a high HF

everytime we try to change someone with this problem it always seems to be a fail.

shivers go up my spine thinking of the mission it will take to get hill playing consistently in our 22

worrying too much, if he makes it- he makes it - if he doesn`t too bad cheap and worth a shot at pk 49 .

Hill has terrific footskills and his strong overhead. He can play forward and release Lecras even more upfield, but i think he could be of use coming off halfback/wing.

Can help link the play and break down zones with his kicking. If he can get the attitude/fitness aspect right, will be a huge bonus to your squad.

I'm excited to have Hill on the list, highly skilled and lot's of speed. We have been after him for 2 or 3 years and I trust our coaching staff / recruiting staff's judgement, they know what they're are looking for to add to our already impressive list.
How long til 2012 kicks off?

So how come we recruited JON and Dalziell?

We've taken a punt on a talented player who came relatively cheap. I don't have a problem with that. But let's not pretend our recruiters have some mystical, third eye, hocus pocus sixth sense of whether a player will cut the mustard. They get it wrong sometimes too.

I'm glad we are looking at picking up some of the other clubs rejects. It would be good if we can mimic a bit of Sydneys recruiting style and mix it with the early draft picks pathway.

Clubs seem to be going one way or the other ATM, IMO the answer is doing both.

They certainly didn't chase after Jon or Dalziell? Jon was a rookie pick and Dalziell was thrown in from the Staker deal. Completely different to chasing a player.

I said I had faith in our clubs decisions. How does that equate to hocus pocus, third eye? You just made a very stupid comment!

I suppose his marking power does suit our style of play, with lots of long bombs into the fwd line.

If he can put on some muscle, improve his fitness and be willing to chase and tackle all day...i think we've got a player.

He has a good goal sense too, so he'll add something in terms of crumbing.

In theory, it's a good pick up. It's all up to Josh now whether he wants to give absolutely everything he's got.

Lots of ifs and buts. It was a cheap pick up, it's worth the minor risk.

JON was a highly speculative rookie - well worth the low price given his pedagree - injury didnt help him in the end

Dalziell was taken for the muppet thet went to Brisbane after costing us the 05 GF. Dalziell proved a very hard worker and a great depth player - his WAFL form is the best on our list - we have moved on from Dalziell as a list.

We have much higher picks that have gone wrong:
McDougall??
Masten perhaps at 3
the list goes on

such is life
