the first time ever I havent wanted a season to end

well done CC Schwabby Rick

congrats to the playing group for giving us a season to remember and more importantly a foundation for the future

freo 2007 premiers

Congrats - Freo played a very good game.

Take away the soft frees given to Sydney in the third quarter and add M. Carr and I think the result would have been different.

Some bizarre decisions and non-decisions affected that intangible quality called "momentum" when we had it in the 3rd quarter... but at the end of the day it was their relentless pressure when we had the ball, and their run when they had the ball that won it for them.

Some good lessons learnt for the boys... Can only hold them in good stead for the coming 3-4 seasons when we really challenge. :thumbsu:

Pav underlined his superstar status; Sandi - star of the future and 2007 AA ruckman and Belly showed his absolute class as a player and leader.

Looking forward to 2007.

In a few days we'll look back on it as a great year. They've started to play well as a team. The Dodd's, Crrowley's and Mundy's have come on well, Sandi has been brilliant.

WE got beaten by a better team tonight but the exerience will be invaluable in the coming years, Roll on 2007.

Just want to say congratulations to Freo. If you told me that Freo would finish third and make it to a Prelim at the half way point in the season I would have laughed til I cried!

As I know all too well how it feels at the end of a season where you have gone so close yet not reached the ultimate goal, hang in there Freo supporters.

How about the bounce of the ball, just seemed to go Sydneys way all night. Geez unlucky Dockers, gave it your best shot.

Congratulations on your season Freo, I think you have some good years ahead of you. I think there is strong evidence that to win a premiership you have to lose a preliminary. Lions, Swans, Bombers, and I think the Crows have done it.

You will be there next year especially if Sandilands continues to develop.

Yeah one passage of play where it bounced over in the head of Carr to Amon who bounced the ball kicked it inside 50, Hayden i think attacked the ball on the half volley just bounced past his hands then 'Magic' gathered, snapped and span the ball through which Murali would of been proud of.

I gained a new found respect for Freo tonight, loved the game of Bell, Pavlich, Sandi and Cook just busted their arses. Bell is a real leader.

Dockers not far away, Mundy Peake Murphy and Crowley one year more experienced and the hunger of losing a final will be up there next year.

The Kangaroos lost one to a G. Ablett kick after the siren and an unbeatable Carlton side before winning their first flag.

Anyway bad luck freo, i was very nervous about playing you guys because causing an upset at our home PF had "freo" written all over it.

Good luck over the next few years!!! :thumbsu: :thumbsu:

Well done Freo! What a grand end of season!! I'll be buggered if you dont make it to next years Grand Final.

There were some majorly crappy decisions made against you tonight but you fought back regardless.

i am rooted,

drove from canberra to sydney and back, but it was well worth it. Had some fun explaining simple rules to sydney supporters. They wanted to know about this game wierd game we played. I did get annoyed at the "score check" people checking the NRL scores!

well done dockers ! your time will come ,be patient, swanies too hard to beat at home and they get looked after by the umpies as always. you guys are on the right track

see ya next year !

Well Done guys, a great second half to the season! I'm gutted at the loss but we've got a great start to next year - earned some respect this year deservedly.

Well Done CC, Harvs and Robert Shaw.

We werent really in the hunt and Swannies really showed their class across their 22.

Well done Freo.. Really thought that you guys would have a real crack at it and make it to your first grandfinal.

Was rather impressed that you didnt give up and took it to the swans..

Im sure that you have now earned some much needed respect within the footy community and this is only the start of good things to come for the dockers.

Congratulations are not only in order for your gutsy team.. But your amazing supporters.
I saw so much heart out there last night.. the 20 odd supporters sitting scattered behind me made more noise than the 40 000 odd sydney supporters sitting around me... and the massive purple mob sitting at the northern end made an EPIC amount of noise considering the size of the group.
I talked to a lot of freo fans on my way out last night and all were walking with flags waving, heads held high and some massive fremantle pride.. (and every single one wished me luck for wce today)

To anyone who made the leg over.. well done and im so sorry your boys couldnt get over the line they played an amazing game (pavlich, bell, sandi = absolutely absolutely incredible.. especially pav last night he went off) and you will be there next year for sure.

=) my 2 cents. was really proud to be a west aussie last night i tell you what

The margin may have been 35 points but in reality the game was much closer than that. Sandilands made Jolly look like a dwarf, Pav was kicking goals, Bell was dangerous and everyone else wearing purple played well. While the Swans were up by 20 points at 3/4 time, I was nervous because Freo showed that they could reel in a four-goal deficit with disconcerting speed and had already done so a few times. We won comfortably in the end but it could so easily have gone the other way in the final quarter.

Fremantle have demonstrated that they have what it takes to play in finals, and the experience of playing in a prelim will stand the players in good stead in coming seasons. It's like making swords: to make a sword with a good edge, one has to heat the metal first. So too the Freo players have been placed in the hot forge of finals football, and they will emerge the better for it. As others have attested, losing a prelim is often the first step on the path to winning a premiership.

Be optimistic, Freo fans. 2007 could be a very good year for your club.

A good effort considering the strength of Sydney and their experience.

The Dockers are taking a very similar path to the Power in 2001.

Only time will tell if you can hold it together long enough to get the ultimate prize - but with Pavlich and Sandilands there is a ggod foundation to build on.

Great Effort Freo!

You played really well and gave it to Sydney. At times you made them look crap when they turned the ball over under extreme pressure. Pavlich, Cook, Crowley and Bell played great games.

Sydney had the bounce all night and the umpires in their pockets. The McPharlin mark that wasn't paid resulting in the Goodes goal, the Hayden out of bounce that resulted in another goal, the Barry Hall face hold on McPharlin that ended up being a free kick and goal to Hall and the holding the ball against Crowley that O'Keefe goaled from were poor decisions and I think really turned the game.

The Dockers did their supporters and state proud last night.

Well done on a great season and look out 2007.
