Wells rips Eagles a new angus at the trade table. is there a doctor in the house?

Last year Geelong was willing to trade Kelly for picks 20, 23 and a swap of their future third-round pick for the Eagles’ future second-round pick, valuing Kelly at something like Pick 4.

Wouldn't stump up that future second last year, oh well, we'll take that + everything else you have this year anyway. :D

Well he did produce an even better 2nd year so his currency went up. It's a fair trade, although the Wet Toast's angus will be sore for a few weeks. One of the benefits of ice addiction is short term memory loss so they won't be upset for long

What happened to 2 top 10 picks?
Handbaggers folded as I explained they would. They must feel great watching their entire midfield walk to West Coast.

Picks 14,24, 37 & next year's first rounder ???

What happens if they dont win the flag next year? Are they selling the farm on this trade?

History says you shouldnt over pay to grab a great player .. Chris Judd, Buddy Franklin.

It's a message that we're going to have a tilt at the flag in the next season or 2

Saying that, i believe this draft and next to be shallow. We didn't sell the farm to get 2 top 10 picks like we were expected to

Geelong are cooked now losing their only midfielder with effort

Dangerfield just said good bye to a chance at a flag. Going to retire a loser like Ablett Senior, Pavlich, Buckley, Fyfe & Co

Selling the farm would have been trading out players to get the 2 top 10 picks we were expected to get

Gaff may want to try another move back if we don't win it in 2020 so that would get us back into some picks

We always seem to find depth, don't confused the Eagles with our little ranga step brothers down the road in Cockburn

Not too sure about that, 4 picks is alot of picks and they arent bad picks either. What happens if you dont win the flag next year?

Say you finish 4th and Geelong finish 8th?

What picks will you have for this draft and the next draft? Just curious.

Depends where everyone finishes

Draft picks don't equal flags regardless

The Eagles are one of our main rivals atm, I'm quite happy to see you sell off your picks TBH.

I guess in the big scheme of things its just

In: Tim Kelly
Out: Willie Rioli

One is a midfield beast the other is an offensive weapon who creates a lot of goals out of nothing. I think from a team perspective the Eagles needed a Tim Kelly, I just would have thought picks 14, 24 & next year's first would have been more than sufficient.

Nothing to stop Eagles trading next year to get back into the 1st round either I guess. Will be interesting to see if it gets you a flag but history says no on these kind of big trades.

I reckon Gaff will try a move back to Victoria if we don't win it 2020

Pure karma for him being a massive free-kick staging attention whore who plays for himself instead of his teammates. Will also be wonderful watching Scablett trudge off the ground in his final game with nothing to show for it, birds of a feather those two mercenary scumbags.

I don't think that describes the whole deal. Aren't we getting something back in addition to Kelly?

Your pick 57 this year and a third-round selection in 2020 for instance?
Pick 57 and 2020 third rounder? Yeah whatever you can take as much of that junk as you like. :drunk:

Welcome Tim Kelly and good bye unknown picks, 14 will probably end up being 21. Any decent talent will be back to us after after 2 developmental years anyway.
