So what was stopping us from saying that Shiels was off for a medical assessment?View attachment 1692748
Doesn't really cover cramp - 'medical assessment' means the 'can't return for 20 minutes' level, and has to be advised:

Or if the Swans didn't miss a bunch of sodas in the first half.Convert the easy shots and we wouldn’t be talking about it this morning
All those questions are important but Greenwood got grabbed high right in front of the same umpire no less moments before.I reckon the full on footy nuffies will love investigating this one.
First step would be to go over the tape and count every interchange and check if the number is correct.
Find out if the interchange official is supposed to inform the team that they have reached the threshold.
Look into what qualifies technically by the rules as an interchange. It’s it simply a the swaps of players from the bench to the ground no matter what the reason, blood rule, injury.
Because of the way our season is going I can’t find myself caring too much either way.
It has to be investigated though, because I’d hate for an important game to be decided wrongly in the future.
The whole complexion of that game changes because they delay the decision, it’s actually a farce.Nobody is denying the interchange bungle more than the convenient application and placement of Sydney's free kick. Why not a free from the centre square?
Benches in sports are busy, I suspect this sort of thing happens all the time but thanks to clear communication from the AFL official it gets sorted out.
Would have been simple for the AFL official to say "hey guys, you don't have any more changes so don't let anyone else come on", and I suspect this is what usually happens.
Which made my ears prick up when Ratts mentioned in the presser that we hadn't heard anything from the AFL stewart.

If it was paid, as it should of been, the ball may have miles away before play was halted and the penalty awarded.
A free kick and 50 means sfa if its paid deep in the opposition's defensive 50 compared to if it's paid in the forward half of the ground.
Another AFL rule that hasn't been properly thought out.
Don't think anyone is saying that the Roos aren't responsible for own compliance to rules.
Please 77 changes AFL covering their asses . But regardless of this when we were on top we need to keep going and it wouldn’t be an issue . Everyone knows the AFL have the Swans back . Must be great barracking for them knowing this . Wonder what it would be like only thing is we would have to go to the Gold Coast to find out.
I think a hefty fine is appropriate. IF that was a pre lim or a big final that would be ****ing ridiculousYes

A hefty fine would be sufficient.
Ruined a really good game.
Yes inexperience didn’t help. We were so close too. You could see when we were I think about 16 points up and went forward a couple more times to go further up the anxious anticipation from the players. They would have been thinking we get another we could win and then overdid things. When losing so often it takes time to break the cycle. Swans are a smart team too and just held their nerve. Was very happy that most of the players that took us forward yesterday were the younger ones . Finally we can see some signs. It does also seem that our back 6 seems to work with just the 2 talls as well. Having a CHF yesterday also very helpful. We started to panic in the last 10 minutes. Unnecessarily, playing on after marking just outside fifty, instead of slowing the game down. Simple stuff like that. The only team that could have benefited from gunning and running at that stage of the game was Sydney. Coupled with a some really clutch plays by one or two Swans player, we were, probably, our own worst enemy. Also, pure and simple luck. Heeney’s shot skidding through just inside the post. It just wasn’t meant to be.
