Yep, your right, we have added heaps of "potatoes to our list
Such as:
Chris Judd
Ben Cousins
Dean Cox
Daniel Kerr
...

Just to name a few.

I guess your right, we do love adding potatoes to our list (as seen above)

Yeah, two of those guys can't get on the park at the moment, Cousins had to be delisted and Judd was traded due to poor performance.

Thanks for furthering the list I provided earlier :thumbsu:

I just wrote a highly detailed, wildly witty and sophisticated response to this post, but due to my sole RAM module, I was unable to post it :(

Translation: I got nothing. ;)

cannons can you name a single player that MFC have developed this decade that come close to any of the following:

Judd
Cousins
Kerr
Cox
Glass

k thx bai.

no idea

aha yea mate, if your gunna troll do it write. If ya said he left the club because it was sh*t, it would have been a better troll.

next time mate.

I was taken out of context.

How so?

This is your post, in direct response to a Port fan who stated that the Eagles' young talent was overrated and was inferior to Port's:

I disagree.

The Eagles have an exceedingly impressive collection of youth, and you would have to have a minimal knowledge of football not to see that.

How exactly have you been taken out of context?

Oakley-Nichols is unlikely to make it but he is still only 21. He still has some time to develop. Some teams are drafting rookies that are 28/29!!!

Thanks eagles just spat my coke all over my screen. This is funnier than the Choke selection.

You're meant to snort it not eat it.

Obviously they must think that he can fill a niche somewhere

Well, we've developed Scott Thompson in a similar way to that of Judd, given they've both moved on to other clubs, the same is true of Cousins.

We've developed plenty of individuals like Cox and Kerr, with Nick Smith being a classic example. Great players who just never seem to play courtesy of injury.

Frawley is already better than Glass at a KPD so we've got you covered there.

no idea

next time mate.

Why would I say he left the club because it was shit?

I'm trying to prove that WC recruit spud footballers, so that would in no way enhance my argument.

Amateur.

Sarcasm.

I can see how you missed it though as there is no way of detecting change of intonation or body language over the interweb.

It is a little difficult to get a read on your posts, particularly when you call Judd a spud, compare Dean Cox to Nick Smith (who? I thought he played for Sydney) and say that James Frawley (the nephew of a confirmed Spud, incidentally) is a better defender than a multiple-All-Australian.

Just for the record, do we have an exceedingly good group of youngsters, a spud farm, or both?

A spud farm.

That is, of course, with the exception of one or two of your youngsters, who are hired to water the spuds.

On a side note, Melbourne's Nick Smith was delisted a few years back, and James Frawley is an out-and-out star in defence.

You're not very good at this trolling stuff are you cannons? :D

Tell me again what Thompson achieved during his time at MFC?

Ps: Between them Judd and Cousins during their time at WCE have 2 brownlows, 2 premiership medals and a Norm Smith medal.

We've developed plenty of individuals like Cox and Kerr, with Nick Smith being a classic example. Great players who just never seem to play courtesy of injury.

Seriously who?

Cox is the best ruckman of the modern era and Kerr a runner up in the brownlow medal and a player who has polled very well over his career.

Got to do a little better than some random chump.

Frawley is already better than Glass at a KPD so we've got you covered there.

Sorry remind me again how many B&Fs, AAs, etc Frawley has in the bag?

It was only last year before his injury that people argued who was the better fullback between Scarlett and Glass.

Sarcasm.

Is this like when W=L said on the Melbourne board that he was having doubts choosing Watts over Naitanui following the Eagles vs Hawks game and then later pretended that his comments were 'sarcastic'?

It's over cannons.

You lost.

Kudos for getting a head start on next year though.

I don't care about the past achievements of those players, as two of them don't currently play for you, two are always injured and one is over the hill.

In fact, you could probably argue successfully that all three of those names you mentioned that remain on your list are over the hill.

Further, you seriously can't dispute that Frawley isn't a better player than Glass at this point in time. It just isn't debatable, Frawley wins.

I don't lose.

I'd agree.

Lose is way too kind.

Spectacularly fail is more appropriate. ;)

The original question was have you in this decade developed players to the calibre of the players listed.

I'll make it a little easier for you to understand.

Has Melbourne developed a single player this decade to the level reached by Judd, Cousins, Kerr, Cox, Glass, etc?

I'll save you the trouble, the answer is no. Not even close.

A fit Cox is still the best ruckman in the league.

Kerr's best is still elite as he showed in 2009. Shit i think he out polled just about every Demon player despite playing half the season.

Glass's best to date is comfortably better than Frawley's best to date.

Currently the gap is closer, for 2010 i'd take Glass but in the long term obviously take Frawley due to being younger.

I don't know, Neitz was pretty impressive in his prime.

Other than that, we have struggled for superstars in recent times, admittedly.

Having said that, one would suggest that the future is looking pretty bright for us on that front, and I would be shocked if at least two of our current young brigade didn't end up being elite. Further, I'd say that more of them will probably reach that bracket as well.

Let's not forget Colin Sylvia either.

Gun.

Did i here someone say Nick Smith was cut down by injuries?:eek::eek:

As you know, i only choose the finest spuds and refuse to be budged on quality and value for money. Nick Smith is one of my very best spuds:eek:

Nick Smith:
Think James Sellar of the crows. Round 1 draft pick:eek:. Undersized ruckman because he wasn't any where near good enough to play KP. Grade 1 hack.

I feel sorry for some kid in the WAFL that had his heart set on playing AFL with a his local club and hero's. Poor kid will never be the same, to think he was overlooked for JON.

JON, yeah, good luck with that one.

This is what you call a token gesture by the most racially intolerant club in the league.

How the system works, one indigenous player on the main list, two on the Rookie list. One of those players will never play a game in his life, however it appears as though West Coast are making an effort to be racially tolerant.

Last year it was Liam Bedford, this year JON, it is becoming more and more see through, West Coast fans should be appalled and disgusted.

It is beyond pathetic, it's terrible. The club is a joke.
