Opinion West Coast Eagles new logo

It's looking east...
I don't get the criticism of 'It looks too much like hawthorn'
First of all:
- Two Bird species that look pretty similar
- One is facing east (WC), one is facing west (HAW)
- Not to mention (obviously) different colours, unique italic typography
- West Coast don't have a shield
- The beak extends past wide under the eye and keeps the same formality as our previous two logos (upside down nike tick)
Im seriously beginning to love this logo. It seems people just don't like change and immediately try to find criticism in anything.

Its a great modern design befitting of the "new era". Jumpers are great too (sponsors always get in the way). No white and no Navy

You're spot on.
People, especially Facebook nuffies, hate change because it means they have to go out and buy another guernsey for their kid or some shit, or because they got the ochre logo tattooed on their neck, or basically "waaahhh I don't like change because it's scary".
Logo is dope.
Guernsey set is dope.
By this time next year, if not sooner, everyone will have settled into the new Eagles aesthetic.
The only reason I posted it is to show another one without the infilled colour logo.
I've seen a white one doing the rounds online. Is this just a fake?
Yeah exactly, reading the Facebook comments tonight were cancerous.
"Stop updating the logo" when the logo hasn't been changed in 20 years specifically designed to incorporate a guernsey that we ditched 16 years ago (ochre).
"What happened to tradition" tradition is what we are returning to FFS. You know, those two premierships we won in the 90's.
I swear some people...I give up with Facebook keyboard warriors who have NFC on the history and identity of this club.
****ing love the new look. No more mish mash of blues. Polos back to royal as well. I actually feel like we have our unique identity back.
Fan art. The words you are looking for are 'Fan Art'.
EDIT: I should also mention that Channel 7 and The West published said fan art as the real thing, a few hours prior to the announcement.
I hope they bring Peter Matera back with them.

Don't mind the logo, it looks alright, although the beak could've been a bit longer, but I think that the logo would've looked a lot better on the yellow peril if they had just inverted the colours of the logo and made it blue, instead of just giving it a blue outline...

Like our lord and saviour he has risen.
The logo needs to be simpler in structure.
If you can't get the inverse of the logo working (i.e. the way they look to have abandoned having a blue logo on the yellow jumper), it usually indicates the logo is overly complex.
There's no white jumper that i'm aware of.

Love it! Significantly better than what we've been dealing with for the last 18 years.
My only gripes on the strip are that the HJs logo looks pretty naff & as mentioned above the ISC logo looks like an after thought squeezed in..
Also.. Didn't realise the extent of hatred for the song!
