Genuinely curious as to what the crowd turnout will be like. Chilly Saturday night but clear with no chance of rain. Bombers have a massive following in WA so will probably swell the figure a bit much like the Carlton game.

Still think they might be lucky to crack 40,000 though with how disgruntled a number of WCE members are.

I think it’ll be mid 40’s. Similar to the Carlton game

Essendon have a big following and there’ll be plenty come out expecting a soft kill. Carlton had a lot of fans at our game and you could tell with the noise when they scored. Essendon will be the same

I’m goin. Not expecting miracles, just hoping there’s a bit more intent this week.

Team looks a bit steadier with Yeo, Barrass and Hurn. Interested to see where Yeo plays. Maybe they can finally implement the Yeo/Ginbey mid/def switches.

Essendon by 40

Honestly no point resting Yeoey in the defensive half, will basically be the same as being on ball cause we're never getting it out of our d50. Club has lost their mind not playing him in wafl.

Agreed, they’ve tried a few times to bring players straight in and it hasn‘t worked so well. Happy to see him play and just hoping he gets through

Did you know?

Of the 6 WCE players that kicked goals in our R15 victory over Essendon last year, only one has been named on the field for tomorrow’s game.

J Waterman.

The players missing kicked 15 of our total 16 major scores.

I've peered into the future and have managed to acquire Stocksy's Saturday match report courtesy of his ghost writer ChatGPT.

And might I just say, what a surprise, not only has our availability turned around, but absolutely nobody is under notice. Truly a blessed day.

WEST COAST EAGLES FLY HIGH AGAINST ESSENDON BOMBERS

In what can only be described as a soaring performance, the mighty West Coast Eagles spread their wings and triumphed over the Essendon Bombers in a thrilling clash at Optus Stadium. The Eagles showed their true prowess and tenacity, soaring to a well-deserved victory with a final score of 110 to 92.

Right from the first bounce, the West Coast Eagles displayed their trademark ferocity and determination, setting the tone for an exhilarating contest. The crowd was on their feet, united in their unwavering support for our boys in blue and gold. The atmosphere was electric, and the stage was set for an unforgettable showdown.

The Eagles' midfield brigade, led by the tireless Luke Shuey and the ever-reliable Andrew Gaff, showcased their dominance in the center square, winning crucial clearances and driving the ball forward with precision. Their exceptional work rate and ability to find their teammates in space laid the foundation for countless scoring opportunities.

Up forward, the imposing duo of Josh Kennedy and Jack Darling wreaked havoc on the Essendon defense. Kennedy's commanding presence and uncanny ability to find the goals left the Bombers scrambling to contain him. Darling, on the other hand, displayed his aerial prowess, soaring above his opponents to clunk breathtaking marks and convert them into valuable majors.

Not to be outdone, the Eagles' defensive unit stood tall against Essendon's attacking onslaught. The ever-reliable Jeremy McGovern showcased his incredible intercept marking skills, thwarting the Bombers' forward advances time and time again. His ability to read the play and provide a sense of calm under pressure was instrumental in repelling Essendon's forward thrusts.

It would be remiss not to mention the efforts of the young guns who continue to shine in the blue and gold. Rising star Oscar Allen demonstrated his versatility, impacting the game both up forward and in defense. His ability to take contested marks and provide an option in front of goal highlighted his immense potential. Likewise, the silky skills of young gun Tim Kelly were on full display as he weaved his way through traffic and delivered pinpoint passes to his teammates.

As the final siren sounded, the West Coast faithful erupted in celebration. It was a hard-fought victory, a testament to the team's unwavering spirit and their commitment to the game plan. The West Coast Eagles once again proved that they are a force to be reckoned with in the AFL.

We extend our admiration and respect to the Essendon Bombers, who fought valiantly throughout the match. Their relentless pressure and never-say-die attitude made for an enthralling contest.

This triumph serves as a reminder of the incredible journey the West Coast Eagles have embarked upon. With each victory, our bond grows stronger, and our aspirations soar higher. We look forward to the challenges that lie ahead and the opportunity to etch our name in AFL history once again.

Go Eagles!

Wake up "campaigners" it's game day. Going to be radio silent because I have other commitments and then have to pick up Mrs returning from Singapore at 5pm.

Well judging from the turnout to the preview thread crowd numbers will be down.

I never have and never will forgive Joe Misiti for doing a flying knee into Ben Cousins's hip and not even giving away a free.

Fast forward to now and their captain is a little hair-pulling bitch and Brad Scott is crying in the coaches box. This club has been packed with despisable campaigners their entire history, not only do I hope they lose, I hope they all catch crabs from the change rooms.

Simmo wants them to bring the pressure today,
lets hope we see some steaming passages of play...
