We all know the whistle gets put away in grannys. Youre suggesting theres a quota of free kicks, each team should get at least 1 free kick every, how long, every 10 minutes? every quarter? whether deserved or not? Youre suggesting every team in every game commits the same number of observable infringements so the free kick count should be equal. Really?

Thats not how the game works. Whistles blow when theres an infraction observed by the umpire. Doesnt matter what you think you see, doesnt matter what I think I see. And if the umps dont see anything they arent blowing the whistle. Clearly they saw them infringing more than us.

Rewatch any game, note down the frees paid, and not paid and any that shouldnt have been paid. Thats a true stat to indicate any favouritism. And remember youre making your judgement calls from a very great distance based on what you think you can see on your telly. The umpire is right next to the action and will always see more than you.

Corruption? Thats a really really big call. Youre suggesting that all the umpires were paid off, wheres your proof? BS salty whingeing.

Yes we consistently do ok with the umpires, all of the umpires, at most grounds, since Bevo came on board. Is that a coincidence? 6 years of consistent coincidence? 6 years of unreported corruption involving at least dozens of officials? Or good coaching and disciplined play? Whats more likley?

Here are the records, you guys do pretty well with them as well, better at home, significantly better, mmmmm. And Sydney do badly at home, away, and in finals. Consistently. Over time.

Heres 2021, massive differential for you blokes home/away. Whats with that if not the crowd? And poor old Richmond. Or a deliberate ploy to slow the game and reset their defence?

I am not talking about quotas; I am talking about statistical improbability and that no team has ever gone almost three full quarters without a full free kick before.

Of course the AFL is corrupt; you would be naive to think it isn’t.

Maybe, wheres your proof? If they are why arent they helpnig the Aints this year?

The most bizarre non call of the 2016 GF was when Hanneberry got his knee injured. That was the exact reason the 'sliding/taking out the legs' rule came about. You just knew they wouldn't ping the dogs for anything that day.
Agree with you on that one. Should have been blown up. Replays do show contact above the knee which is the only defense, but at full speed whos seeing that?

Its also a rule that discourages the bloke attacking the ball which I personally dont like.

It could well be a finish of 4th or 6th dependent on the outcome of the Round 23 match against Brisbane at the Gabba.

I know it's hardly science but when I did the ladder predictor this week this is exactly where I found us, 4th or bust away at the Gabba

Rohan’s broken leg was a shocker, surprised that he came back. Of course, Jaymie Graham’s injury was horrific, even worse than Rohan’s, but it happened a little later and in the WAFL, which doesn’t have the same national profile.

Best (Worst?) AFL broken leg is still Nate "let's have a bet" Brown. That was wild.

Broomheads on the goal post in 2019(?) was pretty horrific too.
Mitch Wallace takes out weirdest broken leg but. Still not sure how you can kick and break your own leg but he managed to poor bastard.

Personally, I would give McGovern a game in the WAFL first to enable him to find some form.

I'm tending to agree. If it's pissing down then the ball will be on the ground most of the time and McGovern's greatest strength is negated.

He's basically played the same of amount of footy that Shuey has this year and if it was good enough for the captain to have a run in the WAFL then its good enough for him.

All of the teams currently occupying the top five positions on the ladder have comfortable fixtures over the second half of the season.

It remains very conceivable that a club this year could go 17-5 and still miss out on a top 4 position.

From a West Coast perspective, chances of a top 4 finish are all but gone if the club loses again this year.

Even if we do go undefeated between now and finals, there is still a deficit of 20 in percentage to those rivals for top 4 positions that also needs to be bridged.

So effectively, we need to flat track every game now to make top 4 if the teams placed above us don't lose any matches unexpectedly.

Any matches that Port or Brisbane lose will go a long way to determining where we eventually end up.

What wouldn't be terrible is if we finish 5th and Richmond 6th. Then we start on the opposite side of the draw to Richmond.

We win at home and then play say Port in Adelaide after they loose their 1st final. We have no fears of Port in Adelaide.

Win that and we are in a prelim. Anything can happen from there.

Finish fourth please. Demons first up. They’ll be under all sorts of pressure and choke. He prelim than a grand final. Simples.

Worst leg injury by far is Jason Snell back in 2001 when the bone pierced through his foot/ankle.
Forever burned in my memory.

Free kicks are influenced by personnel, game style And tactics. Home grounds and crowds affect all games. Some more than others sure but not to the extent many complain about.

Eagles kick mark game and corralling not tackling does make a difference

Sorry bud, the stats dont agree, your home/away records are very different re free kicks. If there was no Optus effect the count should be closer, like ours over time, ours is very similar at home, away and in finals. Ive taken the comment out anyway, the last thing I wanted was to derail my comments
This is not actually the case. Over time the Dogs have a large home ground advantage in free kicks as most teams do. Theirs is the second highest in fact behind us (stats from 2000-2017, someone could update them to now but won't change the table significantly)

personally, that is too many changes for such a big especially after such a great win against the Tigers. six changes?? really?? ok shep and Shuey yes. kelly yes, gov yes. why Vardy?? does not make sense based on matchups and considering we have fallen. petch?? maybe perhaps. who goes out is your guess. Wtherden stiff not to get a call-up.

Vardy is token ruck on extended bench in case Nic Nat trips getting out of bed. Will not play. There are only four changes at this stage.

Cannot believe Foley has been dropped. A couple of other things have irked me but I’m trying to only say nice things so I won’t elaborate.
