Culley, Hutchinson and Brockman to come in next week. Maybe even Jamieson, he was good, and I like him better than H. Edwards as he is quicker and more agile. Dewar did some nice things too - just needs some serious time in the gym, Baker too - they are still very much lightweights.
Good win!

Well Reid will be out suspended and Sheed should be omitted. That plus we are thin in the middle and need to play kids who can play in the middle.
No chance they drop sheed after last night. If Reid doesn’t play and Kelly comes back that’s still ginbey, yeo, Kelly, sheed and trew for midfield minutes before adding culley.

I really dont see them bringing in Culley, Hutch and another player off a 6 day break
Culley seems like a massive chance if Reid is out or in place of Sheed if Kelly is also an in
They seem to reward a good patch of form

Hutch hasnt been in the team long enough to know the subtle things he needs to do
He'd have to be crazy good to come straight in, and Eagles have been conservative.. so i dont see it

Brockmans not available for selection until after the bye.

The thing i'm enjoying about Culley over Gaff, Sheed, Trew is that he takes marks around the ground as well.
He has some more strings to his bow than just being a pure inside mid.
He can get ball on the outside too, today out of his 30 touches 20 of them were uncontested.

Hutch won’t get in. Too tall as is, and he played a very simple out of the goal square role he wouldn’t likely be able to translate to an AFL side with Waterman, Darling, BWill and Ryan. That’s before you get to the size issue with all of those plus Maric plus Flynn.

It’s ok for him to build for a month through the WAFL and find the role we think he’ll play. This was first day at a club, shake hands and forget everyone’s name then head to the goal square for a simple role stuff. He did it beautifully, but he needs time.

Good take.

Yeah Culley much better overhead, a very good ball user and he looks like he's a bit quicker and fitter than last year too. Really want to see him have a run at AFL level soon.

If Culley is surrounded by the right players in the midfield at AFL level he will be fine. He just needs others with good speed around him & it will work. Need him feeding it out. You could have him & Ginbey roating through the middle. Both have shown they can play multiple positions.

Surround him with Gaff or Sheed like players & it won’t.
