Yeah Culley much better overhead, a very good ball user and he looks like he's a bit quicker and fitter than last year too. Really want to see him have a run at AFL level soon.

One of my big complaints about how AFL clubs do selection is that they just look at whoever got a lot of touches in the twos, and then bring that guy in, but he’s behind a lot of other players for on ball time (for the Eagles, obviously the likes of Kelly, Reid, Yeo, Ginbey and others are ahead of Culley). So he ends up playing a lot of half forward and gets 10 largely unimportant touches at 65% game time, and then gets dumped back down in the twos.

If you’re gonna bring in a guy like Culley based on what he has proven in the midfield, then actually play him in that position, even if it means rotating some of the more senior players through half forward or half back. Otherwise just bring in a Brockman or Dewar.

Reid's out, Kelly may be back. I'd play Culley ahead of Trew and Gaff

Burgiel has the record mate
You just made me spit out wine at a nice restaurant.

Nothing concerns patrons more than a solo diner laughing madly to himself at the table next to them.

Surely we hook Lucassen up with a cushy office gig when he’s done playing.

The bloke must be such a nice guy to just keep rolling in to this forwardline, getting smacked around, bobbing up with our consolation goals and doing it all again the following week.

Couldn’t be far off our games record holder? Maybe someone like Brayshaw?

Edit: lol he’s nowhere near. Ethan Hansen first with 52, Zane Trew next with 39. Lucassen only 25 somehow, feels like he’s been around forever.

He is however second for goals (33) behind Snake (40).

What the hell is up with Burgiel this season? I know he's had a lot of discontinuity, but looks extremely slow and disinterested compared to the glimpses we saw last year. Wondering if his hamstring issues have had a diminishing effect on his athleticism or something. BOND 007 maybe any insights?

Comparing the early signs of, say, Johnston and A.Reid, to Burgiel and Barnett, the 2R-onwards 2023 cohort is looking favourable to the year prior that we were all so enthusiastic about.
