West Coast seem to be more concerned about comparing silverware than any other club I've seen.

If I wanted to compare silverware or lack thereof I'd aspire towards the top with the likes of Essendon, Carlton and Collingwood. For a supposed powerhouse club like West Coast, they sure spend a lot of time comparing themselves to what they consider a "minnow" club like Fremantle. Why not compare yourselves to the big boys? Because in that case the current total is 16-4 cups in their favours.

A club pinning all of their hopes on a kid like Harley Reid is only going to be a recipe for disaster for West Coast, they can continue to hammer home "B-b-but players don't leave West Coast" all they like, a kid like Reid who's likely going to be a bonafide star is not going to waste most of his career playing for a bottom of the barrel club like them, the first chance he gets he's moving back to Victoria to go to one of the big 4 Victorian clubs so he can actually get some recognition.

No big star has ever said "I really want to play my career out at West Coast." And before anyone says anything, Tim Kelly
