It’s dawned on me.

It’s a very VERY real possibility I’ll have the girls on opposition sides come 2025 or so

I’ve had them take each other out at training and then there is the scratchies they’ve played against each other as well

Would you do a Jacinta and get your manager's ticket?

would love to see Georgie Cleaver in the Blue and Gold next year :)

She was playing Rogers Cup which I think she had to be 16 or younger this year. Not sure when the cut off age will be now that the AFLW season and draft is in a new slot.

For 2022, the girls had to be 18 by the end of the 2022. So it all depends on when Georgia's DOB as to 2023 draft or 2024.

Whichever year - she would be a good acquisition.

So fits into the Rogers Cup because she turns 17 after the season is over. Got it.

So it will be a matter of who else we like as I see us getting the first WA pick for at least 2 more seasons. Hoping we don't need another priority bacause we are better but I am also OOK in banking talent at the expense of Freo

She is now 183 cm a ruck / forward.

I am liking the Rookie Me Central write up of Georgia Cleaver (they have a very good summary of the girls including the WA talent)

WESTERN Australia’s sole bottom-age AFLW Academy member, Georgie Cleaver is a high ceiling tall with plenty of exciting traits to make her a highly-touted prospect coming into her top-age year next year. The East Fremantle forward-ruck splits her time between football and netball at the national level, having only been able to play one AFLW Under 18 Championships game this year, but has stepped up in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) Women’s competition.

On the weekend, East Fremantle claimed a massive 91-point win over West Perth to remain undefeated, and though there were plenty of contributors, Cleaver was one who caught the eye aerially in particular, clunking eight marks to go with her 22 disposals, largely playing forward. She rotated into the ruck to win eight hitouts, whilst also having seven tackles and five inside 50s. In all measures bar hitouts, Cleaver’s Round 13 performance hit season-highs.

Her 2022 WAFL Women’s season has featured six consecutive games of double-figure disposals, booting goals in her four games leading up to the Round 13 clash. Having taken no more than four marks in a game this season, Cleaver doubled that tally. Though she gave away a few free kicks trying to escape the opposition’s grasp and realistically should have kicked a couple of majors with her opportunities, Cleaver still had a strong game.

A young KPF would be exactly what the List Doctor ordered. At 183 cm - that puts her above Lauren Wakfer's height (but not sure when Lauren was measured).

A pretty fair assessment of where we are at. I am also wanting a major shift in game plan as Prior last year looked bereft of ideas. Maybe the additional speed and skills we added will help and were parts holding him back.

We are starting to get some more natural footballers which should assist in not giving away so many free kicks at stoppages for dumb acts.

At thats the key, as we have already seen how Lewis and Thomas have been able to adapt to AFLW quickly, because they are, as you say natural footballers.

Rosie Anderson could work her way in as well -- about 174cm I think, explosive athlete, just needs some consistency. Ran out of gas late last season, like a lot of the kids. I'm pretty sure she's born 2005, the South Fremantle website is useless as always and doesn't say, but a commentator on one of the junior games said she was.

Georgie's only issue is her wonky kicking style, she still hits targets, but under pressure it can come undone. Other than that, she's a phenomenal athlete, great hands and mobility, should be our top pick.

I think the move of Jamie Henry to the midfield has been genius. Her big problem is she's not very quick, but there's been a trend in the AFLW of relatively slow but strong bodied inside mids who use toughness and smarts to win the stoppages -- Maddy Prespakis or Kirsty Lamb, etc. Having someone to knock opponents over and feed out handballs could really take the pressure off Swanson and Hooker inside. Jamie's also one of the most 'pure footballers' you'll see, she was just born with it.

Srhoj could be anything, relatively new to the game I think, but tall, fast, skillful, runs all day.

It all depends on how many priority picks the AFLW is throwing around. The players union wants to expand the number of games per season, but the AFL has said it won't until the competition is less lopsided. The clock is ticking, I reckon the AFLW will be throwing lots of priority picks around in the next few years to try and make the bottom teams competitive as quickly as possible. Which could mean we get another big haul.

In the 2024 draft it won't matter as much, we'll get a big haul of great players whether we have priority picks or not. And Freo might be even more excited than us, they'll finally get a monster draft.

Poor temperament. Won't make it unless she has an attitude adjusmtent sorry to say. Does not like a defensive attention at all and cracks very easily.

All the talent in the world.

It's a shame to hear that, but it would explain why she's so erratic. I've seen her play at least one game where she was basically best on ground as a 16 year old, then in other games she disappears. Hopefully she'll get it together, she's heaps fun to watch.
