Oh I agree and I am just trying to salvage something from the situation is McCarthy decides to defect.
Besides I think she would prefer Adelaide to us and its most probably draft picks that we get from the unwashed.
Roxy plus Freo 1st round for McCarthy a possibility

Roux was struggling to get a game, while McArthey was one of our main starting midfielders.
Roux is younger, but several years in, hasn't cemented a spot.

She is also on the outer at Cockburn, something is amiss there and thats a bit suss.
Makes me wonder whether we are close to announcing our next Coach. I can't imagine Ella falling over herself to sign on for another four seasons without even knowing who will be steering the ship.

Yep. McCarthy's been good, but she's slow compared to where the AFLW is heading. Roxy hasn't done much, but huge upside, plenty of players who struggle at their first club, then have breakouts at the next. If the forward line isn't working for her, why not try her down back? Massively strong, huge vertical, worth a shot.
If by some miracle we got Daisy for coach, then Ella and Charlie locked in long term, that's a nucleus a lot of other players would like to be a part of.

Might actually make our 2025 crop consider nominating WA instead of national. Roxy vane firing out of the blocks at Freo but hasn't shown much since? I think i remember murmurs on the gossip a while back that there were some attitude problems?
Personally i think trying to lure Jess Hosking over as a developed player with a bit of mongrel to help the younger cohort could be worth considering.

Article in the West from her netball retirement described her as one of the toughest and fittest players in Super Netball, so I don't mind this if she's here to show the younger players what it takes to be an elite athlete. If we get anything on field that's a bonus.

Yeah, I think we are well and truly past this experiment, if she takes the spot of one of our developing youngsters only to be useless, ill mad. Happy to eat my words but this seems pointless.

She is a rookie - I assume that means she is a free hit and like the Cat B in the men’s competition
