Surely Butcher wouldnt play, going to be top 5 draft pick, got this far without a serious injury so why risk all that coin to play a WGLFL Grand Final? Come back when its all over re Cox, Anderson,Stevens and win a flag then.

Butcher to play. Possibly Carr too depending on his fitness, given til tomorrow to get up.

Maffra have got a truckload of ins. (feel sorry for whoever gets dropped, but i guess it's gotta be done when there is a flag at stake)

Yummy is on the money too.

Butcher will play.

Carr will play.

Unbelievable finish to a game! As a neutral I wasnt fussed who won either way, but Maffra should have won that game by 6 goals so the right result came thru at the end. Butcher, what do you say, should have won game off own boot, but nearly lost them the game, first time seeing him and very impressed. Dont know who he was but #7 from Maffra was a standout for me in second half.

#7 is the younger Coleman brother, Michael. Has been living in his brother Ben's shadow, but a good player all the same. Must have been close to BOG.

Nick Anderson held a meeting for the club members n players tonight to show his plans on moving into the future.. a very professional presentation. The club looks like its headin the right direction and should improve for next year and many seasons to come.

Good to see my lime cruiser drinking friend also joining the team at sale the man John Mayman... Will be a big asset for the club for profit over the bar and also may help out with the footy side of things

any confirmed moves yet? theres been talk of phil harris from Sale/Nilma-Darnum going to Morwell as well as Churchills coach Nathan McDonald. anyone got anything else?

Leigh Mcdonald you mean???

I have heard a few rumours concerning rama, most of them revolving around mid gippsland league.

There are always plenty of rumours but unitl clubs sign players as coaches, assistant coaches etc you have to just wait until clearances open up.

ah yes, i meant Leigh McDonald. sorry about that! Yeah ur right, rumours mean nothing at this time of year, but its still interesting to hear banter about different players to different clubs

Heard the other night from a league official that Bairnsdale are super keen to enter into the "Gippsland League" (lets start calling it what it is) as soon as next year but the league hierachy want to make sure that they have their structure right before they admit them and would rather they wait until 2011.Apparently it will be more of an east gippy region representitive side rather than just purely Bairnsdale with the club not fielding reserves only seniors ,thirds and fourths (where will Maffra get their juniors from now?) and having agreements with east gippsland clubs about bringing players up from their ranks to play and alternatively being able to drop players back to their local east gippsland club.Wonthaggi are going to the courts again to try and get all decisions made against them held over or something ,personally i don't know what they are trying to achieve with this.If both clubs end up in the comp ,they would play each other at Morwell or Traralgon to cut down on the travelling.Garfield are gone .That's all i've heard.

Was reported in east gippsland paper about two weeks ago (if you can get your hands on it) and fully outlined the proposal that the bairnsdale football club are putting forward. The interesting part of it is that the players that dont make the side will be balloted out to the "minor" league clubs in an attempt to "even" up the EGFL.

Everything that you have said is pretty much spot on Hawk Sale.

Here's a story for all the young kids out there to share with their mates during silent reading on Monday morning!
Was out and about in Sale on the weekend and was fortunate enough to run into Sale Football Club legend Shane Fyfe. After getting his autograph on my limited edition commemorative 6 time best and fairest collectors item photo and kissing his 2009 Vermont Football Club premiership medal, I was lucky enough to listen as he imparted his wisdom mixed with dry wit and intelligent charm on the crowd at the engagement party of the Mudcrab. What a pleasure it was to be in the company of such a highly decorated yet still so humble young man. He is a credit to not only himself but his family and local church.
Speaking of the local church, their main representative, Jesus, was also in attendance, and appears to be healing up well from the crucifiction wounds suffered to his hands and feet. By the time I left, he was still unable to turn his pot of water into red wine, however, apparently by the time the tab ran out his powers were well and truly returned and he was wooing the local sweethearts with red wine and enough fish to feed the masses.

I could've sworn he (i.e Jesus) went to Nilma Darnum with the rest of them didn't he?

Ha, wisdom. Well a few local catholic footballing/cricketing identities were that excited by Jesus' healing that they decided to step up to the dance floor later in the night and try to impress him.

hey fellas...

just trying to find some info... rumour around canberra is that there is somebody from gippsland moving to canberra to coach the eastlake footy club.... anyone know about this or can confirm it?

any confirmed moves yet? theres been talk of phil harris from Sale/Nilma-Darnum going to Morwell as well as Churchills coach Nathan McDonald. anyone got anything else?
Leigh McDonald is staying at Churchill, but not as Coach. Colin King is the coach at Churchill, who was their Chairmen of Selectors last season. Leigh was pretty close to becoming Assistant Coach at Morwell, but is now staying a Cougar.

My partner went to the wellington shire for a "footy premier" dinner last night and was amazed at the arrogance of certain people at Maffra. She said to me that some of them were downright rude and made some pretty immature remarks about the other clubs in attendance.

Pretty poor i believe and for such a successful club a bit more grattitude would be appreciated.

This may very well be the single most gutless post ever.
To make such serious allegations about a football club based on second hand information, with no details of the comments made, who exactly made them and in what context they were made - if they were made -and to do it under the cover of a log in name is truly gutless.
Having said that, the president, football director and members of the comittee have been made aware of your comments and are following them up with the necessary vigour - if your allegations have any basis there will be repercussions. The club does not percieve itself as arrogant and is nothing but supportive of the other clubs in the competition and certainly does not want to be percieved by others as arrogant or dismissive of the other clubs.
As an aside - to who or for what are we supposed to be showing "gratitude"?

Note: I have written some people not all of the people present as some of the people in attendance are my friends...

Arrogant: having or showing an exaggerated opinion of one's own importance, merit, ability, etc.; conceited; overbearingly proud an arrogant teacher an arrogant assumption

Yes this is how my partner described it, arrogance can be shown in many different ways and people view it differently, this is the word she used. It is not a serious allegation as people at my football club, Heyfield, are probably percieved in this fashion. It is not an allegation rather an observation of a few people attending.

Gratitude: The state of being grateful; warm and friendly feeling toward a benefactor; kindness awakened by a favor received; thankfulness,

Towards the shire and guests for celebrating your achievements, again not a serious allegation an observation. I am only saying what my partner has told me whether you were there or not you cannot comment on what my partner has percieved/felt/seen/heard. the only way you can criticise what she has said is if you were in attendance and stood and talked to my partner all night. Doubtful.

I am glad your following this serious allegation (which is not warranted imo) and sorry for being so "gutless" as i don't think it is that big of deal (i.e requiring a meeting or some delibiration). I would hate to think how you would react to something serious!!!

Maybe next time when i write something on a public forum i can get the details of the people involved, what colour tie they wore, how many entrees they consumed and voice recordings of what they said before i lay "allegations" of two or three people acting on behalf of Maffra Football Club at a public event acting a little arrogant and not being gracious.

Why in the hell would i make comments about Maffra that had no basis of truth???

I wasn't justifying anything i said. I was trying to explain it to a person who obviously believes Maffra and the people involved never do anything wrong, I am sorry that some individuals from the Maffra Football Club made some comments that people have taken offence too. You have flown off the handle accusing me of lying, then if i was true that if caught these people will be trialled and executed. GET OVER IT, IT HAPPENED MOVE ON these people did not steal momey, wreck property or physically harm anyone they made comments that reflected poorly upon there club.

We have a few ex-heyfield players that play at your club, the only association we have with Maffra is them trying to persuade our talented juniors. My team doesn't play in your league, has no association with your club. Therefore we do not care what you do, how you go or where you do it.

Please for your sake and mine admit it was wrong and move on.

Yeah, lets be honest here Samebi, its not like Nugget has anything to gain from writing something completely inaccurate on this site. I would highly doubt that he would sit up at night and think of lies to put on Bigfooty. There were a group of people representing a footy club at a function and apparently one or some of them made a comment/comments which were taken as arrogant by some of the people who heard them.

Oh, and the use of the dictionary, it proved him to be correct in his use of the term.

"I don't tnk it is that big of deal".
"Therefore we do not care what you do, how you go or where you do it".

Then why bother posting it in the first place?

Mate you seem to suffer from a bad case of foot and mouth disease, you just don't get it do you? You bag out individuals and clubs and think this is OK.
Go back through your posts and list the people you have shit canned!!
