West are basically where they were 2 years ago struggling to field a reserves and under 18s side.

West have lost half their A & B grade. Players going to adelaiade, kalangoo and sandford. Depth will be a problem. East wont clear the players to kyby as they are under contract. Could be a bit of tension brewing between the club and one of those players.
If all these players are leaving West and going to other clubs, "is it money or something within the club" for the reason for leaving that is what the club needs to look at and try and resolve. I know that there a number of West players going to Adelaide for work and Uni that is something the club can`t control. For the contract players from East that want to leave don`t all VCFL contracts run out on the 1st Jan each year which makes them free agents and East needs to look at why they want to go as well, have heard it is something to do with the coach.
While I am at it I must set the record straight from my last comments on this site about North sacking last years U18 coach, had a chance to speak to him on Friday night and he was not sacked but was not re-appointed. He told me that he told the club he would like to continue but the club decided it wanted to go in a different direction ( his quote) and he also said that is the clubs right to do so and he respects the clubs decission but was disappointed with who they appointed. North are still recruiting players so if East or West are looking for players maybe they should be approaching the North younger players who will be missing out on selection this year.

Last time I was up with the west situation the only player that didnt have a legit reason for leaving was the young chf Bromley going to the Bay. Have a feeling he may be from that way. Not sure who Bulldogsbark is talking about however i think Stewie ( big B grade ruckman last year) is going to a MDSE team .
Heard a whisper that the wingman (Booney) may be chasing a quid before he retires(only a rumour).

I do know that alot of the top bracket players were offered really attractive packages to play and coach elsewhere but none one them took up the offers. Guessing that now the second tier WBFL players a getting targeted.

I heard that 1st of January aswell. Sounds like the East players will go to Kybi just the admin dont wont to make it easy.
Leaving because of the coach sounds like an excuse to me. Everything I have heard and know about the current coach is that he is pretty solid.

Whan as coach of the u 18s of North shouldnt be too bad. Not much of a footballer but seems to have good people skills and now is very well connected down at Tigerland.

who are the west players heading to mid south east???

Stewart Mcloughlin is going to kalangadoo, Sandford has made an offer to Brodie Sharam and is also interested in a couple others (dont have names) Nangaheads have made an offer to a couple other west players - reserves or under 18s im unsure
but Josh does come to mind.

North looked like they had well up to 60 players on the track tonight and on a 35° day you would expect to see a few missing - and they're still recruiting!!!!

Another year comes around and all the hype is about north.... I Spose someone has to pump there tyre's up. Look at last year and probably there whole history leading into a new year. Think they will have trouble keeping young one's there because they can't get an opportunity. They have picked up a very handy player in O'grady but apart from that has McConnell actually seen these other recruits play??? East are looking stronger, but will have in-house problems, and can see a huge number of there seniors look else where in 2013! Bit quiet Vic way what's happening over there?

rumour has it that Hamilton president missing due to $$$ missing

Wouldnt suprise me one bit if he has gone missing, he should never have been president and should never have appointed Russell as coach, its lucky the club still exists after having the worse possible people in control.

Who is or was the president?

Heard Brad Wilson from West may have scored himself a spot on some development thingy that the Gold Coast Suns have got going. Anyone heard something on this? If so that would make it 4 heading of to bigger and better things. Good for the players but leaves West with some massive holes.
Unless East, South or Portland can get going looks like North might break their drought.

BREAKING BIG NEWS.

this will be the last year of south west football league and also for western boarder.

there was a meeting this week with SWFL committee and next year there is going to be divisions in the vic from casterton to a 2/3 hour radius covering warrnambool, hamilton, portland areas. SA sides will stay in their state and cut ties with vic WBFL and likewise for vic sides. there will be 3 divisions and netball teams may not be playing at the same locations as their football clubs..

winning sides of the divisions move up to the next DIV and bottom teams drop down to the next DIV.

we will be playing under the AFL and no longer be apart of the VCFL.

i dont believe this is a good idea for the netball teams and football teams to be playing at diff venues. id like to see the club go across to diff ovals as a CLUB and not have 4 or so diff clubs playing at one venue. its said that this matter of the arrangement is yet to be finalized but it is all a go ahead regarding the divisions for 2013. all will be finalized by the end of this season.

With the review happening this year I would expect we will have a glut of these types of ill informed rumours.

Catchmeifucan I do not know what you have been smoking but your dreaming with this story. They wont split football and netball up clubs wont survive financially. Probably the fact you support Heywood and are a bit excited that they may actually make finals this year I think you are believing the most extreme is possible. Lucky you are not in charge of doing the review this year.

Review has already been completed and recommendations sent out to all affiliates .

The review has just started. Recommendations will be sent out by june/july and finalised by the end of the season.
Nice try but unfortunately you heywood people aren't known for being too bright!!!!

You've got to do better than that. Thought you were a journo fishing but nah your grammar, spelling and punctuation is worse than mine but then again maybe you are. Nothing has been decided, few if any have been formally consulted. Wait until June.

Hamilton Presso surely not! We all make errors of judgement but a thief I'd be very disappointed if true, can't believe it. You know the worst about this sort of thing is that mud sticks, be careful, please don't ruin a man's reputation on rumour or personal grudges, if you have FACTS call the police, otherwise shutup.

Having sat within meetings involving the VCFL/ AFL Vic review, and receiving the 126 page finding and recommendations , I can assure you it has been completed and recommendations sent to affiliates .
If your talking about a SA Footy review, are you surprised that the Victorian review is completed and the SA it is yet to commence ? ;):thumbsu:
