im not sure whats gonna happen as far as his contract goes, but 100% he aint playing there.
he has legit reasons reasons for not wanting to play there.
He's stated in the press 'work & family' & you'll might as well throw in travel.....John Copping said that the yr after he won the wb league medal, yet he's back a yr later appointed as coach (08)...a contract is a contract !!!

agree with bigant and sam42, i dont see why west would release him out of a contract early, if he doesnt want to play he'll probably sit out the year

these VCFL contracts arent too hard to get out of though.
The only reason west will try and keep him is if they feel he owes them something.
Why keep a disgruntled player though?
if worse comes to worse he could just rock up and play with west without caring too much and pick up a good amount of money, no trainin just playin (unless it is stated in his contract that he must train which I doubt).
If they drop him he would be the most expensive reserves player in history. And no his contract wouldnt state he must play in the seniors.
If they refuse to play him he may have an automatic out on this contract
so what would west want more? keeping some dollars or having to deal with a big headache?
it will be interesting to see what way this one pans out

Heard 6 gone & gained 6 from V F A Werribee, J Imbi heading O/S & bringing at least 2 players back from home country.
Winnis Imbi still as coach, how is it that Portland can gain players from VFA & other clubs cann't.

Mate...this gave me the biggest laugh of the day...where did you get this info from...Pretty sure J Imbi is not travelling to his home country...unless he is from Europe!

Can anyone tell me how casterton are travelling so far with numbers and arrivals ect?

Was the merge with sandford only a rumour or has it come about?

Rumour - but I have heard Casterton may be struggling with numbers but can't confirm this.
And that is one crazy rumour about Portland and the VFA players and J. Imbi bringing players back from his 'home' country. Gave me a good laugh too! And I know that on pretty good authority!

Can someone tell me where you find the player transfer list for the WBFL now.

Not sure what the problem is....i think it's widespread with all vcfl sites !? It might be that there still formatting that department, since the vcfl have updated there site across the board.

Surely the transfer list window is'nt restricted to just club officials...:eek::rolleyes:

I'm sorry to report that the transfer list window is not just restricted to club officials, as some club officials also cannot see it! The new VCFL site structure is rubbish. Why are people constantly messing with systems that clearly work. It is like the rules of the sport, it seems like the more popular the sport becomes, the more the AFL wants to change the game. Do they not want it to be popular, is that why they keep "tweaking" what would seem to have been a winning formular?

i try going to my clubs website, but it asks for a sportingpulse username and password, how do i sign up so i can get past this and actually go to the site

Does that snowball onto fixture's/results as well :-$.....or is it basically coming down too respective leagues choosing whether to add or decline these sub-windows from the trusty old site.
As it's not only the wb site that is'nt 'complete', most other vcfl league sites have either transfer list & fixtures/results added or not....Is it up to the leagues themself what they add !?!?

I could be wrong, but I think it is actually a new supplier that the sites are through, so may not have the same windows to facilitate some of the things we are used to. It is the same base-site as used by Mount Gambier's hockey competition.

Both the Ballarat Football League & Warrnambool District Leagues have Transfer links on their sites, therefore it must be up to the individual league web site administrators, let's hope they all get it up and running soon.

Just from looking at the Warrnambool and District one I would say that is an Xcel spreadsheet the league has had to put together themselves, rather than an automatic program that develops the window from transfer applications coming in or out. Good on Warrnambool District for providing that service to their supporters, members and followers, but it is also another drain on the time of admin of leagues who would have to manually update it themselves by the look of it.

this shouldnt be a problem, as we have a paid administrator to do all of this computer updates. if he isnt doing this, then what the hell is he doing!!!! sorry he is organising the elastoplast cup, that not one team gives a flying rats toss about!!! gives you an insight to the league in general that they cant be bothered putting the clearances on the website. just another reason why imperials should have moved to hampden!!!!!

That is an excellent point you make there Nut. Could it be that the Western Border, and probably the clubs themselves, do not want their comings and goings public knowledge before they are ready? Bit lame if that is the case. It creates interest in the competition to see who is going where. If people are not talking about footy and getting excited about it, they are not going to go to watch. Less people through the gate, less sponsorship appeal.... makes you wonder why you would deny footy followers any information they might be chasing?
Although, on your final point, has Hampden got its transfers list on line?

Millicent have continued there busy off season with the signing of former Sunraysia 2007 3rds joint medalist Mildura demons player Glenn Gascoyne, recruited from the same club as new assistant coach Troy Hosking.
Standing at 6'5 in the old measurements, Gascoyne adds height which they have lacked over the years and certainly will bring some long needed competition to help out number 1 ruckman Cameron Haggett .

Have just found out from a very reliable source, it's upto respective clubs & leagues what they put on there web sites. Unfortunetly the transfer list is only accessable to club officials.

Big Ant:Have the WBFL chosen not to show transfers. If so, disappointing. Stirs the early interest seeing who is coming and going.
