Some very interesting results from the w/end. Watched hoppers and the saints, who could well be back on track.
St Albans lost their captain Fitzpatrick to injury during the game the other day, so depending on the severity he may be out of the equation.

Hoppers Crossing need to go recruiting. You can't lose the cattle they lost at the end of 2009 and not replace it, then expect to climb up the ladder. They have far too many players in their side at the moment who might be home grown talent that came through the juniors there, but they aren't up to it.

Could colts still make it?
Yeah, Colts can still make it....if Sunshine lose to West Footscray and St Albans lose to Glenorden! Aint gonna happen.

Could be a winless season for the roosters its a shame for all the people who put the hard work week in week out. The boys have improved dramatically over the last 5-6 rounds but 10 mins of bad footy in the 3rd cost west dearly on the weekend Skipper Jason King kicked the last 4 goals of the game but game was over. 2 games to go Can west get a win??

Think the two weeks were taken, but not 100%

Cut the crap Jason. You might once have been a good, even great player in the WRFL, you won a priest medal, gibson medal, premiership coach(?) but you ruined it with a final act of thuggery on Saturday. Weak, king hit, very low act. You probably dont give a toss about my opinion of you, but I actually liked you as a player and as a commentator (on bigfooty), but now I will only refer to you as a cowardly thug.

We where dissappointing against St Albans to say the least. The saints seemed more desperate after the smacking they got against Albion last week (Just shows really how much we are off the mark). The umpires have alot to answer for in this game but would not have affected the result but made it 3-4 goals closer seemed St. Albans where well looked after as per usual.
Not going to say I told you so but what is Sunshines record after the mid year brawl? The wheels may not have fallen off but are moving a hell of alot slower.

More excuses from Hoppers players why they are losing games...this week it's the umpires fault, earlier in the season it was injuries, a few weeks ago it was all the coaches fault...perhaps the players at Hoppers need to start taking some blame for their poor performances.

I was at the same game on the weekend and my view on the umpires is the exact opposite...your lucky St.Albans didn't touch you up by a lot more.

Re: Western Region FL - Division One - Part 2

quite a good idea for williamstown, werribee and pointcook to get out of there league and into ours. $$$$ is not a problem wat so ever people play at werribee in the amos for diddly squat. Good idea though, the league shud deffently speak to football victoria of wateva the association is.

verrrrrrrrrry unlikely to ever happen considering werribee used to be in our league many moons ago, and the fact that werribee took out their under 18s and put them in the ammos and rumor has it willi and pt cook are considering doing the same, makes everything look very bad for wrfl.

but on a similar note, i reallly strongly believe the league needs to be expanded and teams like newport, caroline springs(who are coming in), need to have a senior side to their juniors, a 3rd division with another 10 teams or even a 15 each 2 division comp is what the aim should be...
thats just something thats been on my mind for a while now, any thoughts?

The league should be looking at strengthening all of the current clubs and ensuring that they sustainable in the long term before they look at bringing in new clubs.

If Point Cook Seniors don't play in the WRFL then their Juniors will be asked to leave the WRFL - that's the only "choice" they will have.

Don't get this issue confused - ROCK07 is one of the good guys in your league. A wonderful player and clubman. It's not an ideal way to leave senior football but I take my hat off to you Clarkey. Great career buddy.

Well it's your opinion and your entitled to it. What happened i'm dissapointed in to say the least. I have apoligised whole heartedly not that excuses my actions.
After the game i took the two weeks and now the league says it was not signed properly i know have to go to the tribunal.... the wrfl kangaroo court goes ahead again.
No wonder this league continues to detoriate!!

Don't tell me that the umpires actually caught him out with his cheap thuggery shots. About time. Clarkey has continually taken the cheap shots over his entire carreer but not being caught. Glad to see the back of him, footy is now finished for Clarkey after these two weeks, or more if the tribunal gives him more, and then his forced suspension next year. As KTDT noted, Rock07 has been great for Bigfooty, but soon there will be no more comments made by him for around 6 months.
Good riddance.

Other than Luke Phipps name another player i have ever hit or for that matter taken a cheap shot at???
Bumping and roughing players up is not a cheap shot, also letting backmen no they were not pushing me around as a forward is hardly continual cheap shots!!
I made a mistake on the week end, yes i did a very stupid thing.
I don't shy away from that, i'm man enough to admit when i'm wrong but not to out and out bullsh it!!

Just for your info my comments won't be stopping!!

I don't want to go over old ground, but "You're now admitting to hitting Phippsy?" But you were found not guilty, must have been telling porky pies.
There has been constant rumblings over the years about your behaviour on the field. I get to see you about 4 times a year and everytime you might be "roughing up the backmen" but kidney punches are far from roughing up a player.
Last years GF when you were a waste of a player, the first thing you did once you got on the ground was to take "cheap shots" at the backmen.
As I said before "good riddance"

Rock, even you would have to admit 2 weeks was a light sentence for what you did. I would be supried if you get less than 4. Ball no where in sight - out of play if I recall. So hopefully you get your right whack at the tribunal.

Wrong again i was found guilty of hitting phipps.
Constant rumblings...surely it's man against man...i have copped as good as i have given and loved every minute of it.

Lastly your 100% correct i was a wast last year in the gf and the year before...terrible performances!

Wel maybe your half right, but it was after a boundry throw in and i kicked a point. I retalited to a knock and yes i went a bit over board.
As i have said before i never care what people think of me but i'm dissapointed in myself for what happened for a number of reasons.
I'm sure the tribunal will give me a fair whack. Retired now so will not matter!!
Good ridance....:(

When playing against Clarke over a few years recently I never really witnessed anything other than some verbals or some standard rough housing. I never seen him at his best but was told he could play a bit going back a few years and was also a bit more 'loose' than he is now. For what it's worth I've played with and against blokes who make Clarkey seem like Cinderella! I'm not condoning his actions because obviously it was poor on his behalf but gee after being a youngster playing games of footy with blokes like Dean Lupson and Mark Power from Sunbury and growing up watching the Tarksons running around I think a few of you are being a tad precious and throwing a bit of interest into the blokes career.

Yes his stupid for some of the situations his got into, I've done some poor things and no doubt most footballers have. Let him cop his ban and be done with it, from his words his done now anyway so noone needs to be worried about the bloke.

Peace to u nerds ;)

come on now Tige, if the ball isnt within 30 metres of you, you would be scanning the crowd for hot birds rather than watch what Clarke was doing to your teammates.

good on you Rock for admitting your faults, could have easily said nothing.

if you dont go in for the hard stuff you labelled soft, if you do your a thug...how do you win?

as long as you shake hands and have a drink with your opponent after a game, people should forgive and forget.
