something along these lines has to happen.......im from d/p and would love to see my club back where it belongs in div 1 but if the finances arnt there i can see from a commitee perspective why they have chosen not to.......people say heights didnt have money maybe they didnt i dont know but they were in a much better possie(in terms of player list) than d/p are at the minuite........west well i dont know why they even went up......this(them getting relegated) was always on the cards.......

Just because a club has been in Div 1 in the past doesnt mean that is where it belongs.

All clubs have different ways of doing things. We chose to just go up and have a crack, regradless of playing list or finances. Our club loves a challenge and never walks away from one.

Deer Park have chosen to bide there time in Div 2 and build up a bank hoping that they get another crack and expecting to make a big impact when/IF this happens. Each to their own as they say.

The end result is that regardless of what happens from now on we have earnt a fair bit of respect within the football community and Deer Park is being laughed at.

any news from cairns on the weekend..... fair number of the clubs had their footy trips up there didn't they?

I saw some of the Colts boys (Think it was Clarke, Stevens and B Jacobs) leaving church on Sunday morning as the Sunny Heights boys were on our way in for the 9:00am mass :D :D

I think all clubs got along well, there were alot of footy players in the one venue and no trouble what so ever......a real positive for the wrfl boys.

paul harrison has hung the boots up & will coach, steve zavalas & justin dorwood two that joined 2 years ago as playing coachs have both left. no big names signed yet but 5 or 6 on the cards.

John Bell, Jayson Watts and maybe his brother James.

Bell is one of toughest players ever to pull on a jumper.

And the bed bugs at Gilligans??

Did anyone get jumped by Aboroginal gangs walking home from the woolshed?? I know we were told to walk the opposite direction at about 3:30 am after a night out and walk the other way we did!

Wont be going back there again... Bali 2010 seems the goer!

At least we'll be up there for a 2nd year. Don't take pot shots at heights when your club hasn't got the balls to go up.

If Divi 1 is where you belong why are you so afraid to go back?

So what the deal Rooster? I hear Bones has stood down as pres because he was the only one who voted to stay in Divvy1. Is this true and was your coach announced last night?

True Bones did stand down and as for coach no one has applied for the job.

West will fold, no coach and now without a backbone (bones), will be hard to retain and keep players interest, let alone recruit players. Bit of a shame for a proud club and the competition as it continues to decline.

Does this come back to the problem of money, Rich club's versus poor clubs.
The competition does become a little boring when two clubs make the grand final every year, without any real challenge (i thought hoppers might have but didn't).

Was it West's lack of money or bad money judgement, how much was wasted on Libba for a one year performance, not in the Club's best interest i would have thought.

So a quick summary what gone wrong at West Footscary over the last few years?

I think that it all started with their playing list of 07. While they were clearly the best team in Div 2 that season they had a number (probably 7 or 8) of players that were going to retire at the end of the season.

Bones openly admitted during the season that if they went up they would need to recruit 15 players. Unfortunatley for them it is hard enough to recruit 1 player when you go up and 15 was never going to happen.

Sometimes a Div 2 team ends up winning a flag when its list is older which cant be helped. In this case West actually targetted a few older blokes to get them over the line which certainly helped them win it in 07 but they are paying the price for that now.
