Re: Western Region Football League team

Hey cabs, Nathan Jackle, what do you know of him. Was at weribee (I cant spell) for the pre season and Parkside last year.
Heard he is looking for a club as Parkside didnt treat the kid too well.
Heard from friends at sunshine they are speaking to him and also to Yarr Seddon.
You got any info on that one

Yeh pretty handy footballer, tough as they come and lightning quick. only problem is his skills are pretty ordinary. did make it through to the final 2 or 3 to be cut from Werribee so they must have seen something in him. would be a walk up start in most if not all WRFL senior teams. Dont think we are speaking to him though mate.

Re: Western Region Football League team

Hey Chest, it looks like Nathan Jackle may be playing with us at Yarraville but can't be 100% on this, as he trained with us on Tuesday and one of his former coaches is coaching at yarraville and a mate of his so there is a connection there for him. As Cabs said he is very quick and looks to have put on some size over the preaseason and his skills have improved alittle bit since training at Werribee. Would be a great pick up for the eagles.

Re: Western Region Football League team

Yarraville are playing Aberfeldie tomorrow in what will be there final hitout for the preseason. I must say the ground would have to be in the best condition ever, certainly the most grass coverage since it was resurfaced a few years ago and as grass as ever.

He played at North Footscray before Parkside. More an athlete than a footballer and a little injury prone. Only a kid though, so can be a real star in the WRFL if he keeps developing.

Re: Western Region Football League team

albion beat lillydale by 6 goals.. very good standard for this time of the year.. they might actually be the real deal.. they played at a very high standard, pressued all day. and look very fit and quick.

Re: Western Region Football League team

yes, thank you for the in bred comment.(i thought the 2 heads was giving it away) new Albion?

kingspark is in trouble it will not be available for start of year. if it rains a little more it will take at least 4 weeks to get anywhere near playable.

have to proberly go back and play our home games at errington reserve
surface there is in good condition shame the ground/rooms are so small.
Did you say they had small rooms? now you know what visiting sides feel like when we come to you low rooms the toilets are filthy along with the showers

Colts play Glenordinary yesterday and l must say they wont be as bad as people think, we had 9 flag players out so alot of young kids got a go and they went well, other players that went well was McNaulty he is a star footballer hard runner with great skills, Lindsay is set to tear this league apart AGAIN he is such a hard runner and smart skillful player, Twomey and Massis give the colts first use every time with their clearences and tough hard work around the stopages Julier played well McGregor is more than handy along with Winters. For the day there wasnt anyone that played bad, and the ground is a disgrace it must be the single mothers capital of Melbourne lots of prams and baby car seats out there

Agreed Fan the ground is an absolute disgrace! Its a dust bowl, underneath is like concrete, dont worry bout moulds or grasscats, you need runners! Few boys with sore hoofs today you would think!

McNaulty and Lindsay are the benchmark for hard running, what makes them such good players apart from the skill and ability to find the footy, they get to contest after contest all day long!

Couldn't really tell you their names, they all had a go without anyone starring. As the fan said ,colts had 9 of their premiership players out as well as two of their recruits in Whittmar and Chisnel. The game was played in good spirits on a ground that in normal circumstances would be condemed. All that participated in the game are better of for the run no doubt and with only one shoulder injury from both sides, it was worth the exercise.

Re: Western Region Football League team

Nine players is a lot to have out there fan but where will they all fit and will they all get a game as you have picked up a few from last year so there really wouldn't been nine out. Did Whittmar play and is it Chisnall? did he play i have a mate who lives up in the ovens region and he said he likes the big open grounds. How did he go on the smaller ones?? Also heard from a Hoppers bloke that Lindsay is fat and was blowing early.
Good to hear they gave you a run for your money and will be competitive.

wouldn't say " a run for your money" just the necessary run that we require at this stage of the year.Your hoppers mate must wear goggles,if Lindsay is fat as he states. The blokes out were, Clarke ,Caddy,Stevens, Taylor,Burns, McBroom, M Bracken, L Bracken, Millen, Whittmar and Chisnel. When you add Critch and Mullett to the above it does give the match com something to think about. Colts won the game by six goals with 29 scoring shots to 9.

did troy kelm play for albion? tall skinny ruckman...

Yeah he played ok but a bit young and lean. They need to drop 8 players so not sure if he will make it round 1. They have 3 ruckmen - Ali doesn't look very fit (but played ok) and the other one walked off after a few missed marks in the first quarter so maybe.

The new guys did well. The captian was fantastic. Considering it's the first hit out they played well as a team and the new guys have settled well. Hard to say who will be dropped. From the original side Bettina, Davis, Hewitt, Richards, Haldane played well.

Very hard to pick the 8 that will be dropped.

Big Grant Millen, Is he playing this year?

Re: Western Region Football League team

Douttas beat Spotty by 4 goals Saturday, Douttas came back from a three goals down early in the last quarter to win. Spotty were missing a few most notabley Montebello. Douttas will be hard to beat this year in the EDFL so not a bad result for Spotty you would think!
How did the two's go? Did they play?

As well as Kelly, Keenan, Rippon, Bond, Mangin, Isbister.

Disappointing to be up all day and be run over but we took a bit out of the game. Played much better than against Avondale. Add in the guys mentioned above and we should be pretty competitive.
