Just wondering how other clubs are fairing with grounds for praccy matchrs??
We were due to play sunshine heights sat 14th march and neither of us can gain access to a ground from either council.
The same thing has also happened with our game against knox on the 28th of march, there council has made their ground unavailable and we still are not allowed on ours til April.
With the round 1 due to start 4th april and then a bye for easter i think the league needs to delay the season and start the 18th and make up a round by playing queens bday wk end, all clubs need to have an equal build up, also most other metro leagues are starting the 18th if not all.

Seems a bit unfair. Clubs who have the right contacts manage to get onto a school oval or VFL/AFL clubs ground. Lucky them.

Local footy is full of all sorts of disadvantages. Some clubs miss out on preseason games, some clubs spend thousands of dollars more a season than other teams. Nothing is equal.

But I think it's stupid having one round, then a league bye at Easter anyway. I'm not sure what the WRFL's obsession is with starting early, finishing the season at the start of August, playing finals during August and having the Grand Final so early in September is either.

Not to sure why hopefully it gets sorted soon......

Can we expect Matty Bellingham to be cleared next time?

I think with players being refused at every club is a waste, if they want to go somewhere else let them go. And thats not just the Colts, every single side does it and its a pointless exercise.

Keels mind your own business.
Matt bellingham is one of our most talented juniors and has yet to commit 100% since being open age he will not be cleared and everyone at the club agrees, it's not in his best interest to go play rubbish football at such a young age. There are alot of people at the colts who care about matty and want him to do well with his footy and personal life and will do all the can to keep him at the club. Hopefully after he meets with us he decides to stay.

Well seeing as though im a districts player and he has signed a clearence its in my best interest to keep track on it.
D1 isnt great but with the side we are putting together we will be in C within the next few years and hopefully then B grade and that is good footy.
If he has signed a clearence does this not tell you he wants to leave? What will playing 2nds do for his footy?

He would not be playing seconds buddy, still not your business why he has not been cleared, i wish the disticts all the best and we never have stopped any player from heading there, but with matty things are a little different.
He knows he can turn up when he likes and play in the ones and probably kick a hundred at south, easy option, same in our reserves.
If he still decides to go after meeting and sorts the other issue out he will be cleared, hopefully someone can make him see sense and he plays the highest standard he can, obviously he has mates at both clubs.

I see the Two Pelar's (Wayne and Daniel) have been ask for a clearance to Werribee.

How would they go in VAFA D1

what type of players are they

I'm guessing they'd be Football players. Some of you guys on this thread are so narrow minded. Anyone ever thought that blokes like Matty Bellingham and the two mentioned above simply want to play with there mates or on the same token maybe some players take their head out of the sand and realise that Ammo's footy isn't as bad as most think. Man i'd love to play in a comp where every second week you win by 25 goals and play against inferior teams. Also find it funny that players at Werribee Ammo's constantly are poached or at least attempted to be poached by WRFL,GFL clubs year in year out.

Personaly i'm not narrow mined, ammo's is great footy ( in A and B grade especially) and before long all metro comps may even be that way.
Im matty's case he has friends at both clubs, the kid has more talent than most playing in our seniors he is just lazy and all at the club are hopeful he wants to set himself a challenge and try to be the best he can be, if he was leaving to go play vfl no one would stop him.
I also follow all levels of the ammos and i don't think you should worry about big results in our comp as it happen's in most leagues, including the ammo's.
I also agree with you about players being poached from the ammo's and i think it's a good thing, i never said there were no good players in the comp as i know there is, just the depth of quality at all clubs in D grade is very thin.

Stand your ground on your opinion of D grade ammos Rock.Regardless of it being D1 or D3 it is rubbish. A Grade= Quality B Grade= Very good and C Grade=Not bad.A kid with his talent should be playing the best footy he can and that isnt going to happen at Districts in 2009.They havent played a decent standard of footy since they were playing against the likes of Noble Park,Balwyn,East Brighton,Oakleigh Districts and Mt Waverly in what was once a powerful SFL which is now just a shadow of its former self.Btw Districts have as much chance of Getting to B grade ammos as they have of moving back to Oval 1 behind the Tech.

D1 and D2 are not as bad as people think. There are alot of gun players that can play a much higher level or have played a higher level. The thing you find woth ammos is the loyalty to clubs is alot stronger than most comps. At the districts we have 35+ players that have come through juniors and not just 1 or 2 years of juniors but Under 9 to Under 17. Not many other sides can say that. regardless of what people say SMD have at least 15 players that could get payed really well in other comps but rather play with there mates and build the club.

Keels wake up to yourself, firstly like every club you have a number of senior players that never played juniors at the club, and no where near 35 players that played juniors right through, lastly could you name the 15 that would command GOOD money from other comps......i look forward to hearing these names or maybe they talk that they could play a higher standard, but seriously could not be committed enough so would probably end up playing reserves at a better standard.
No doubt there are a few that if they put in could be very good players at higher standard but lack the commitment and dedication to do so, so i wonder do these players put in the effort at the districts to help there club to the full potential???? your for one keels that would be in this category, with your training attendence terrible and that comes from your team mates. With this attitude i think B grade is a long long way off.

In this case, the standard of footy being played is not the sole issue. As Rock mentioned everyone would like to see Matt play at the highest level he can. Having said that all footy is good footy as long as you have your heart and sole it it regardless of the standard. In this case Matt has been treated very very well by a number of senior people within the club, many of which have gone out on a limb for him. There is never the need to "pay back" anything that anyone has done for him but in this case it would be a fitting gesture on Matts behalf to get behind Rock, train hard and fulfill the potential that all see in him.

PS - Rock I will catch up with you shortly:thumbsu:

Im more worried about building a work career for myself than playing footy thats why I am not at training every night. Footy is short term thats why i'm not chasing coin and not making footy number 1 priortiy.

But this is all off topic. I agree WRFL top 5 teams are better than who we play but I personally dont agree with clearences being refused. Everyone has there own opionion on this so no point going on with it.
