What a complete bloody waste of time

I mean, what is giving players 3 minutes of game time going to prove? Rawlings was purely doing the "caretaker" thing and appeasing the masses, but in reality are we really that delusional to suggest that, e.g a Thomson can really show us in 2 games, if he lasts to next week, that he has what it takes?
After a season at Coburg, do we really think that the brains trust that hasnt been able to establish anything remotely connected to "who can" and "who cant", in 5 years is going to do that in 2 games? Like get real FFS....this is becoming a farce...Would it not have been better to protect those we know can, and keep testing those we, well we know cant, but still want to make sure before the file is stamped?

its not about who its about how long they have to show what they are about...
Lets say for instance, Thomson comes in and has a dirty one, one of those days, the nerves got the better of him, all that shit that can play are part for a player having a dirty day.....what? are we giving him a taste of the big time so he can be all revved up for next year? This from a dude that couldnt get a geurnsey in a team that was getting its arse busted week in week out?

i think it may prove to save him
if they thought he had no chance at all of being on our list next year they would not even consider playing him but he has been in the best a number of times in the vfl and been emergency for quite a few times as well
he has 2 games to show us that we think he has something and to keep him on

I'd give Thomson, Putt, Connors, Patto, Hughes, Polak all another year whatever happens in the next 2 weeks. Hopefully the new coach thinks the same

Dissapointing Simmonds/Tuck/Brown/McMahon are getting games ahead of Connors, Vickery, Post, Goo, Putt. Season is done, these players arent going to do much better than the youngsters, at least if people say why should Rawlings be coach next year we can say that he played youngsters. Play duds and getting smashed and playing youngsters and getting smashed are two different things. bit dissapointed in the selection comittee this week, though happy Polak and Thomson are getting gigs
