The slap them all (beat em up) is fun but maybe a little too simplistic ? Will probably finish it in a few hours.

The XXL game is hard to describe, but there's a bit of combat and item collecting. I'd youtube both before purchasing. The XXL game has been on my radar for months, the slap them all game was an impulse purchase. It doesn't have many positive reviews on Steam (more because of bugs etc), both were purchased on Xbox as I redeemed a lot of Xbox rewards points I had up my sleeve (redeemed $50 of giftcards).

I used to play a few Asterix games on the master system back in the day. Might give them a look

Youtube them to get the gist first. I purchased them for free via rewards credit, but had been waiting for a sale on the XXL game for a while. They're under $30 on Xbox right now. The XXL game has multiple sequels so it must have done ok.

About an hour into Prey and I am getting strong Control kind of vibes.

One of the best games of the last gen. Good call on the Control vibes. Has the same not-quite-horror but sorta creepy, sci-fi exploration vibes with weird blurry, smoke enemies thing.

Started playing Yakuza: Like a Dragon a few weeks ago, didn't get too far through. Picked it up again a few days ago and have been really enjoying it. Gameplay is not the most exciting, but the story has been really good. The sometimes unavoidable street fights are a little annoying. Wandered into an area I was under-levelled, got my ass handed to me and lost half my money which was a pretty harsh penalty! Need to save often.

Problem is, I will need to put it down again in 2 days when God of War comes out.

Batman Arkham Asylum. Not really into superhero stuff, but this is a pretty cool game to play. So much so that I'm going for 100% getting all the collectible stuff. Good thing the enemies aren't sponges like it looked like in the recent Spiderman games. Will play the other 4 in the series as well. Look forward to it.

If you play the original Yakuza games (0-6), you will find that you won’t only have unavoidable street fights but side-quests that just start up out of the blue if you walk passed the wrong NPC’s on the street. So you might be trying to get to the next main mission but will have to play through a side-quest unless you skip passed it.

The only thing annoying with these games but fun games nonetheless.

Yeh, I've noticed that. Makes it feel kinda linear, which is weird for an open-world RPG.

Played this big sewer dungeon last night (Chapter 6), holy hell that was tedious! Endless unavoidable fights with very few save points. Chewed through all my supplies getting through it. It's been the only part that I didn't enjoy at all.

Which check out the others after I get through this and GoW:R. Should I play them in release order? Should I skip any?

Because I absolutely love Yakuza I would say don’t skip any and play 0-6 in that order. 0 came after Y5 and before the Y6 release but it naturally comes before the first Yakuza game in the timeline, titled Yakuza Kiwami in the west.

The only thing I skip with these games are certain main chapters of Yakuza 3 which are basically filler and boring af. All the games are on the PS Plus extra service so you will have them all, provided you have Extra/Deluxe. You will notice that 0-2 and 6 are the best in terms of PQ. 4 and 5 are decent remaster jobs and 3 is just the PS3 game on PS4 so you will notice the difference. Not all games will look like Yakuza LAD.

Just had a board meeting. NFI what was going on! I think I passed it. It's probably one case where playing in Japanese with English subs doesn't really help.

This is my personal guide I have saved for myself

“Red (people) beats green (money) which beats blue (facilities) which beats red.”

It never fails. Keep at the management minigame until you have top a top 10 business, that way money won’t be a problem.

Picked up God of War yesterday and want to get stuck in but I can't put down Like a Dragon. If only I could play both at the same time!

So happy to hear this mate. I know I said this a few weeks ago but not sure it was to you, be sure to have 3 million yen by the end of Chapter 12. You need that amount to start the next section of the game and it’s frustrating if you don’t have it on you at the time. If you’ve been blasting through the levels of the management minigame, you will have no problem accumulating a lot more money than what you will need.

I'm stuck in chapter 9 at the moment. Did a boss fight in Geomujil and got my ass handed to me. Was only level 24, guides are saying to be at least level 29. Smashing through the management at the moment (currently on top 20) and just did a run through of the sewer dungeon where killing one bloke netted me 80k and bumped me to level 28.

Will get to rank 1 and do another dungeon run through then give that boss fight another crack.

Finished up with the Disco Elysium platinum last night, just in time for Pokemon. What an incredible game. Probably makes my top 5 all-time list or at the very least, top 10. One of the most fun platinums I've ever gotten, too. Loved every second and hope for a sequel.

Going really slow with GOW2. I don't have the time to sink hours and hours into it.

Also playing MW 2, Overwatch 2 and Rocket League so that's probably affecting my playtime too.

Started Trials Rising the other night also. Decent fun.

Just finished A Plague Tale: Requiem. I’m feeling very flat after its ending. I was going to go for the platinum straight away but now, I think I’ll be happy to take some time off and wait before I dare start a whole other play through.

Gotham Knights is next, then Callisto Protocol.

Finished God of War 3 Remastered

Initially thought it would take weeks, got it done inside 3 days (maybe 20ish hours all up... yes that's bad considering youtube playthroughs are 6 hours in length lol). I never died during fights or boss battles. My Achilles Heel was certain jumps I failed at lol.

The gow games usually have shitty final bosses in my view, especially the 1st and 3rd games. Either from bugs, poor design or huge difficulty spikes. Everything else about those games is great though.
