Halfway through season 2 of The Good Place on Netflix. Well written and acted, clever plot, and short episodes so you can binge hard. Some really good humour too.
Highly recommended.
Been in hospital getting my appendix out so had time to binge on Osark aswell.
Love Jason Batemans character and the series as a whole. Has periods of real darkness and unexpected twists. Left me wanting the next season which is always a good sign.

Yeah I want to watch it, I have a long list of things I want to watch, the issue is getting the wife in the mood for serious tv she has to pay attention to

Episode 1 hits you right between the eyes. Not from the opening scene, but....
You just need to make a start and it'll grab her attention.

Halfway through Season 1 of Daredevil on Netflix.
Still the best show Netflix has done in the marvel space, not sure if I prefer one or two but they are both great

Someone's a Hawthorn supporter...

Hawkins movie theatre, decked out in brown and gold, in season two of Stranger Things.

Considering our style of play in the 80s, I think they got the movie selection on the money as well.

I thought Luke Cage was OK, too. Jessica Jones and Golden Fist were a bit behind and the series where they all appear (title escapes me) was not too bad.

BTW, anyone watched the new Star Wars yet? Was a report in the news absolutely caning it as the worst SW by far (must be bad if it is worse than II). Read that Lucas was disappointed in the direction Disney was taking the franchise and has walked away. So it would not surprise me if it was crap. Interested to hear others opinions. Note I have yet to see it.

Jessica Jones is my second favorite out of the group
For me it goes DD > JJ > LC > The Defenders > Iron Fist

Currently watching The Punisher and I think that will end up somewhere around JJ or LC for me

RE Star Wars haven't watched it but George Lucas not being happy makes me think it will be ok, he's done nothing but try and destroy that series for years

Not sure where The Punisher fits into all this. No super hero qualities, just one mean bad-ass Rambo. Definitely worth a look, though.

well he's part of the universe and he was popular enough on DD S2 that he got his own show, it's probably the least connected and least fantastical of the shows so far which is a nice change of pace

Just finished the Punisher

having a third crack at finishing Breaking Bad, couldn't remember how far into Season four I got earlier in the year so starting Season four again, with luck I might finish this show by the end of next year :D

Mr Robot, nice.
yeah I'm back in early season two, i have this issue that I can either game or watch shows my wife isn't into, but not do both so I tend to back and forth between TV and gaming

Recently downloaded a show called Counterparts. Has JK Simmons in it. I could only find 1 episode of it so far I'm thinking it may get its full release sometime next year. Main gist is that theres a parallel universe and the doorway is in Berlin where our world's UN controls it. JK plays 2 roles, which are both the same person but from the 2 different timelines. Well worth a look imo.

Yeah I really liked it.

Also interesting if you’ve seen arrested development and you think Martin Byrde is actually Michael Bluthe who has run away from that mad family for a fresh start.

The parallels with him being a smart, financially savvy guy with inadvertent links to mobs and corruption makes it ‘just’ plausible

Finally got round to watching Star Wars. Not sure what to think. Overall it was worth paying the money for, but I felt it didn't do much for the Star Wars Universe. Too much time spent where the story went nowhere. Take out the Star Wars expectations and the movie is quite enjoyable.

On a side note, was there a clause written into the original Lucas contracts that said anyone who plays the part of a (post-pubescent) Skywalker must not have any acting talent? Hayden Christensen always gets panned for his performance, but, geez, Mark Hammil is just bloody woeful.

Its a different kind of Star Wars movie, which isnt so bad. No movie after the orignials is ever going to be better. I think if anything it opens up the franchise, allowing expansion of the universe which will come through its games, books, comics etc which is what Disney want.
Movie has its weak points but can be enjoyed as a Stats wars newbie or as a hard core fan, which is a hard mix to get right.
As for Hamill I have to disagree. He played the role as the director wanted and played it well. The direction of the character is not what was expected and that makes ot hard for him and fans to deal with, but as a actor he was very convincing and did a great job.

In the case of Hammill it was guerrilla movie making, shoe string budget, everyone unknown.
In the case of Christensen, it was had writing and directing

Finally saw it yesterday, though Hamill did a pretty good job considering how far out of his comfort zone he was
