For some people, this might be the time of year you get your Mariah Carey out of the freezer so the defrosting process can commence. For me personally, it's the time of year I start listening to Silvie Paladino to get in the festive mood.

My granddad used to be an avid Carols By Candlelight watcher, so unfortunately I have seen just about every Carols By Candlelight performance that's been in the last 20 years give or take. Silvie Paladino delivered the GOAT performances back to back years. There is just something about a Catholic Italian woman belting the living shit out of a usually-boring carol that feels right to me.
