Obscure artist who's well worth checking out. Folk singer from the 60s, was then 'next big thing' at some stage. Recorded with some heavyweights but sunk without trace.

His debut album (which has been compared in style to Love's Forever Changes) had to be recorded under another name with different song titles as the record label had already printed the album covers and song titles for someone else but then couldn't use them. Multiple drug issues, was pronounced dead twice but lived. No success during his lifetime but was rediscovered later.

I have previously posted this in Podcasts. I listened to it again today and because it's ANZAC Day it's completely appropriate to post here. Do yourself a favour and listen to this story.
This is one of the most fascinating of tales you will ever hear by Peter Cundall from the ABC's Gardening Australia show. It describes how he came to Australia and his part in the Korean War. Everybody should listen to this story. It is 25 min long. Click on the link below to hear his story.
If you don't know who Peter Cundall is, you will after you hear his voice.

Foos - Wasting Light

Not the most consistent album, but it bursts out of the blocks having you thinking "could this be one of the best modern rock albums ever?"

Bridges Burning could even be their finest ever song rivaling Everlong

man i loved that album when it first came out.
all my friends hated it and hated me for playing it constantly. i can understand how it might get on your nerves but for me it was happy music.

even now i still catch myself subconsciously singing and humming this tune when i'm in a good mood.

"That line-up had Dave Evans in it. Malcolm just didn’t like the guy. He was hopeless. It astounds me why Malcolm got him as the first singer for AC/DC. It’s all connected”

"Sherbet, Hush and TMG were Glam bands and AC/DC were Denim but we all hung out together and stayed in the same apartments in Melbourne” - Herm Kovac TMG.

From the YouTube notes:

It was shot at The Last Pictue Show in Cronulla which was an old movie theatre converted into a venue. They played there with Sherbet on a couple of occasions too.

It was Malcolm and Angus's idea to get the band to dress up in glam outfits. This was the first direction AC/DC took when they started out. The other three are not entirely to blame.

This was the third incarnation of AC/DC with a line-up consisting of Dave Evans (vocals), Angus Young (guitar), Malcolm Young (guitar), Rob Bailey (bass) and Peter Clack (drums).

Like many other AC/DC members Dave, Peter and Rob were kicked out of the band.
thanks for that mate , sorry not to acknowledge straight away had a bit of a spell in hospital.
