Steven Wilson just dropped a banger for those of us that love his music

I'm a Steven Wilson / Porcupine Tree fan but I struggle with his focus on pop or electronica in his new music since Hand.Cannot.Erase.

The new song is his attempt a technical prog rather than his atmospheric prog he excels in. By the sounds of it, the rest of the album is a mixture of all other genres he has interests in which makes the album very incoherent.

I don't think he will be making any conceptional masterpieces ever again.

Really having fun discovering Ghost after just sort of stumbling across them in metal Spotify playlists. Some sort of mash-up of KISS, Abba, The Darkness, with plenty of sacrilegious imagery and over-the-top concepts. But the music is catchy as all get-out!

In his own words, he was done with the style and sounds that defined his earlier years and stated that he had mostly said everything he wanted to say musically with that style ,hence the shift in direction
I get its a direction that has polarized many of his fans but I like the direction
As for the album he states its falls somewhere between Hand Cannot Erase and The Future Bites so I'll get to appraise in its entirety when its released globally from midnight tonight
