Apologies for the poor quality, but this one is a bit special. My oldest played in the orchestra of the Victorian State School Spectacular last year (as well as this year). Channel 7 broadcasts the State School Spectacular just before Christmas, but they didn't air the performance of Levitating. My oldest actually wasn't a fan of this because it was boring to play, at least for the viola.

If that is an all live performance, then it is really damn good.
Quite a spectacle too.

It certainly is. It's backed by the Victorian State Government, and Chong Lim is involved in the production (though he isn't the creative lead necessarily). There are high production values, which is fantastic, especially since the production involves school children who are keen to learn the backstage craft of musical production (my oldest was again in the orchestra this year, but my middle child was part of the production staff and my youngest was in the mass choir).

For the vocalist roles, there's a pretty intensive audition process, I understand, and my oldest had to audition to take part in the orchestra. After playing the viola last year, she switched to clarinet (which is her preferred instrument) for this year's Spectacular.

Shane Jacobson hosts the coverage on Seven, which should be out in mid-December (before Christmas, generally).
