Spent the weekend painting the house and working through The Beatles catalog. Abbey Road on top for me, Harrison very underrated as a writer. The amazing thing about them is how influential they were- listening to them you can hear everything from Nirvana to the Chemical Brothers.

Was at a Coles (WA) this morning and endured some bloke with Vic plates
executing a tortuous 3 point turn to exit the carpark.
It was quite engrossing to be honest.
Anyway, it made me think of the Garden State and then, for some reason, the movie.
Always enjoyed these two from the movie.
So thanks bloke from Victoria.

"Poetic jazz rock"? That's one the descriptions the artist gives. For me there's a bit of a laughing Lenny Cohen vibe going on with the spoken/sung vocal style. Perfect for that introspective late-night listen.

Dolly Parton was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022 but declined her nomination saying she was a Country performer and not a Rock Artist. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame told her she was going to be inducted so she decided to to record an album of rock covers. She convinced a number of huge stars to work on the songs. Some of the songs were recorded with the original artists.
Richie Sambora, Sting, Steve Perry, Ann Wilson, Howard Leese, John Fogerty, Kid Rock, Steven Tyler, Warren Haynes, Stevie Nicks, Waddy Wachtel, Peter Frampton, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Chris Stapleton, Miley Cyrus, Pink, Brandi Carlile, Kevin Cronin, Debbie Harry, Elton John, Melissa Etheridge, Lizzo, Rob Halford, Nikki Sixx, John 5, Simon Le Bon, Linda Perry, Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crow, Pat Benatar, Neil Giraldo, Michael McDonald, Ronnie McDowell, The Jordanaires, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Peter Frampton, Mick Fleetwood, Allen Collins and Ronnie Van Zant all perform on the album.
These are both originals that Dolly wrote for the album. It's well worth a listen. Double album with 30 tracks.

A lot of late 70's, early 80's New Wave. Love the era.

I got that Box of Frogs LP as there were members of the yardbirds on it. Jeff Beck on that track and Rory Gallagher on others
