White Heaven's 1993 "Strange Bedfellow" - a follow up to what's often mentioned as their classic record, their 1991 "Out" album, is maybe a more song focused and consistent listen. Also contrary to some opinion I find the overcast English lyrics sung with Japanese accent vocals a plus. Japanese heavy psych from this era is just the best.

had napalm death - diatribes album on repeat for some reason. i expect barney to pop up his head given current events. it's catchy but wears out its welcome pretty quick.
was lucky enough to get a 2-disc copy at release with 'live corruption' included.

this earworm has eaten my brain

One of my favourite artist discoveries from the $0.01 Amoeba Records CD auctions on Ebay back around 2010 when the US dollar was parity with the Australian dollar. You could you could have a lucky dip selection and pick up a bunch of CD's for less than 10cents and have them shipped without jewel cases for $2.95 for 1 and an extra 50 cents for each additional disc.

Richard X. Heyman seems to have had one shot at fame with an album on a major label and an MTV friendly video to promote the hit-worthy single "Falling Away". I guess this sound was passe in the era where major labels were looking for the next grunge act and he soon returned to indie obscurity. As far as guitar power pop goes (in a style somewhere between Tom Petty and Teenage Fan Club) it stands up pretty well.

From another record with a more homespun production sound

Having a look at Richard X. Heyman's band history on Discogs, he was in a group called Razz in the late 70's with Tommy Keene who's story is similar - major label pushing an indie act for commercial success then dropping the artist for lack of sales and the next trend, although Keene had at least one minor hit in the 1980's with a re-done version of "Places That Are Gone". The original recording below:
