A DIY project today. Son has an explorer and a bass that don't sit well in a regular stand. Wall hooks were a thought but WAF of zero.

Alternatively we bought an umbrella base and a steel post from Bunnings and a couple of Joyo hangers and Bob's yer aunty!

I know your game... you're just showing off all your gear!

Which Laney amp is that?

Not my gear - my son's. I am showing off my design prowess though. That's a creative solution ;)

The amp is an Ironheart 60 with 6L6s and 2*12. It's pretty cranked but it can get down to acceptable bedroom levels. The lazy sod hasn't wired up his pedalboard properly though. He's got all of the leads to do it.

Guitar village in Frankston have another 2*12 Laney at a very decent price if anybody wants to save a grand.

I'm watching/listening to some young music producer who's never heard of Pink Floyd listen to Dark Side of the Moon for the first time.

I haven't listened to it for years. Its easy to forget how ****en amazing a piece of music it is. But listening to this guy is a crack up.

Anyway its blowing him away and he hasn't even taken notice of the lyrics till Brain Damage.

At one point he says "I dunno ... has this album won any awards?"

LMAO.

I don't think he realises he's listening to one of the greatest records ever made.

Yeah its pretty good too.

It was actually good watching that guy who is obviously a producer but also very ignorant of pre digital music. He was quite blown away by it. (Not stoned either.) It kind of took me back to hearing it the first time as a record. This was in the 80s. I'd already heard a bunch of other Floyd music, the Wall and even some songs from Dark Side of the Moon.

Wish You Were Here has more heart i reckon. I haven't listened to it for decades. Might subject the kids to it on the drive to Hobart tomorrow.

I’ve always placed Wish You Were Here above Dark Side.
Both are stunning albums.
Does anyone do albums these days?
