New poster here, but I am curious about what the board think is the best they can see from 2025. You can be as fanciful as you like because it’s only the limits of your imagination that limit your ideas.

You get an A B and C. A is your best fantasy, B is what you will accept as an alternative, C is your worst nightmare.

I’ll start it off:

A. Dream run that surprises me greatly. Basically 2021. Early run of wins, then maybe we fall off a bit and lose to the cellar-dweller, then we recover, have a dominant run that takes us to the Granny where we go nuts in the third and rub their noses in it in the fourth.

B. It goes to shit very quickly. Even before the first round. We win nothing but capture media attention and this board will be pure gold when everyone gets sacked. Also we start again. We’ve had practice.

C. We go playing okayish for a bit but it’s boring games and it tails off and we play frustrating football from then and lose. We finish out of finals, but not by enough to make real changes. Goodwin gets an extension in this scenario.

That’s my version. A is profoundly unlikely but would be lovely. B is alarmingly possible, but might bring with it some lessons and change. C would suck BIG TIME but I guess I’ve lived through the idiot demons before so it can’t kill me now. Hope it’s not C.

What is your A, B and C?

Literally the same as yours PG.

As much as I hate the club sometimes obviously I want us to succeed and win flags. Sadly I think the C option is the most likely, I can see us making finals winning an elim final then being smashed in a semi and that is enough for the board to extend Goodwin.
I really have to fix my username.

It may be possible but I have to go through email to admin or something. I’ll give it a go tomorrow though.

No idea how you spotted me though

Laser Laurie get a proper run at it
That’s not really an A, B and C though.

For what it’s worth (not much) I would like to see Laurie given a chance. He has a run of injuries but now if fit I’d like to see what he can do at his best.

Why not? Our ladder position was shot. Why not play someone else and see how they go?

I haven’t done anything! I’m new here!

I’ll get it all sorted tomorrow or the next day I promise. I’ve been having a nice holiday in Tasmania but I fly back to the real world tomorrow and I will put some effort into making this right.
Peace be with you my son.

My nightmare is we we win 8-12 games, goody survives and we go into 26 thinking if only a few things change we are right there.

My I'll accept is we win 5-10 games but play an attacking style and plenty of kids,

My dream scenario is we lose the first 5 by 15 goals, robot gets the sack and we get a coach who enjoys footy being the coach

I’d like to see us play from further back behind the ball, move it faster through the corridor and play with a smaller forward line and give them more room to move into. I’d also like to see us have a plan B where we slow the game down when the opposition have momentum. A few early wins could do wonders for the groups morale so it would be fantastic if we came out and won 3 or 4 of the first 4 or 5 games. Another thing that would be awesome is if the 2 new draft picks show some early ability in the senior side.

I would hate to see the same slow plan, and more of the same again. It will be a massive punch in the guts if we come out and clearly have the same game plan as previous years. I’d also hate to see more discontent amongst players and really hope the group settles. I’d hate to see Petty permanently forward as well, and a bit more integrity from the selection committee - give players a chance if they have some form at Casey and don’t be scared to drop senior players if they’re having a bad run.

Firstly I'd like to see Petty go back and see Jeffo get given some games. I'd like to see Sparrow, Salem, and TMac pushed out of the team by young talent.

Secondly I'd like to see a much more attacking game plan that sees overlap footy through the middle and isolating our forwards more. No more over cautious movement from the back half from Salem and Lever. Who cares if we give up a few more goals.

Thirdly, if none of the above happens, as I expect, then I hope our continued cautious and boring approach results in more of the same - a bottom six finish and Goody getting the sack. Bonus points if Trac leaves and we get a dead fish for Oliver's contract off our books.

My preference is paragraph 2, but three would be tragically funny.

Let me have a go:

Personally - I would like to win the lotto.

Professionally - Failing my personal goal, I would like a promotion.

Football - in either of the above two cases, or more likely neither, I would also like to watch a dees game without spending most of it burying my head in my hands.

It would be easy to say my A scenario is that we absolutely dominate the entire season, kick huge scores and win a premiership. But let me try to keep it semi-realistic.

Scenario A
There's a visible shift in game plan to play a more attacking and entertaining style. The forward line is cleared out and we play only JVR and Jefferson as our talls, alongside Fritta, Pickett, Chandler and a Viney/Trac. Petty to the backline. A focus on new youth at the expense the likes of Sparrow, Salem and TMac.

If all of the above can also propel us into finals and we snag a win at the MCG, that would be a lovely little bonus.

Scenario B
We still give the youth a run and they mostly look good, but everything else implodes due to typical Goody stubbornness. Our game plan continues to be boring and we get slaughtered for it. First on the field, then in the media. Goodwin is sacked mid season.

The back third of the season shows a team with the shackles off and enjoying the freedom (but we still finish near the bottom).

Scenario C
Mid-table mediocrity off the back of Goody stubbornness at the selection table and with the game plan. The youth get the Brown sub treatment multiple times. 22 games for Sparrow. Media says we're poised to strike next year. Goody contract extension incoming.

This is basically a more conservative and realistic version of my A, B & C.

God protect us from C please. We have all been through shit with this club, and learned to cope with it, but I have pledged in advance that if C occurs I’m packing it in.

The Brown sub debacle was the one action from the club that actually angered me the most this year, out of a lot of others. So he and others given a proper go.

With lots of changes already taking place, in admin, I feel that there is a push for Goodwin to alter the game plan or he will be shown the door at the end of the year. They need to switch it up like the Cats did, that is what I would like to see.

The worst thing about Brown being sub is it was PURELY to get more people interested in the game and get some positive PR for the club.

Scenario A:
but with Petty deep forward, except when he goes into ruck.

I want to see Turner and hooch leading out high from deep forward marking plenty of footy, and looking to give off to runners going by.

I want our small and medium forwards to find space inside F50... in the space behind the leading talls.

I would like to see Windsor and Chandler finding targets to hit-up, with short kicks inside F50.
