What Does the 'N' Stand For in SANFL?

The 'N' in SANFL indicates how pathetic that league really is. It stands for "National", and it's been there since the 1920's (27 I think), year after nearly a century, they've not managed to coax a single "National" team.

Interesting knowledge of SA eh, Geoffa!!

Ever heard of Google?

Thanks Geoffa but if you googled it then why did your post sound so unprecise like you said " in the 1920's "! Why wouldn't you just say 1927?? And anyway why would a Collingwood supporter give a f*** about South Australia anyway!! I know I wouldn't google anything about Collingwood........what a waste of my time;)

Because the wiki page was inconclusive.

Bftt, nice try Geoffa but your responses are getting more ridiculous:eek:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SANFL

First it says that that SA league was the South Australian Football League (1907–1927), then below it says that "In 1927, the South Australian Football League changed its name for a third time, adopting the now familiar, South Australian National Football League". So, in 1927, was it the SAFL, or the SANFL? Seems to be a slight contradiction. Perhaps the page was created by Dodgy-1, using one of his spreadsheets.
