I've decide the worst thing at the thing that has severely effected my DT career is the fact that i have chosen a different captain every single week this year and have done it to much in the past, now my ranking of 566 suggests that with a captain avg of 85.25 that my other players have been picking up the slack, but i could easily have been so much higher!!
PROBLEM SOLVED:

I have never had a player i could reliable say that i could make him captain week in week out, yes i have cox, but have failed to use that option!
I have now picked up a bloke who i aim to make captain for the rest of the year...hopefully this should in turn help my team produce solid scores and fly up the rankings!

Decent average but haven't had a massive captain score yet. I had Bartel captain all year last year except the match after his injury (Chapman was my capt then and scored about 150!). My capt avg was about 115! Brought in Bartel this week, will make him capt and alternate between he and Kornes depending on who they play for the rest of the year.

Maybe Brown or Riewoldt?

Franklin is a huge gamble, could pay off or could cost you again. Your captain should be a solid performer each week, ie Cross/Corey/Swan/Cox/Pav etc I don't see the point in taking a gamble with captain choice, double points are worth too much.

I reckon the two alternatives you named are even more risky. Riewoldt might not even line up, or at best, will be a tad rusty or ginger... and Brown's been racking up regular 60's. Corey's the top point scorer in the comp... that's your safest bet. Collingwood don't tag, and certainly won't tag Corey.

i was playing around with all sorts of stats and figures on this last week, and discovered a new system that would've averaged me 118 up until this point . for this week, the arrow is pointing towards *Dane Swan* - who i was planning on captaining anyway!
my theory is based on performing well after a low score (strictly for mid1, mid2, mid3, ruck1, fwd1). by taking the lowest scorer from the previous week (out of these 5 players), i discovered it was the most likely to hit a good score in the next week. i ran some tests on my scores from last season and came up with some decent results.
