What is your 2nd Favourite AFL club?

was fitzroy - always admired their spirit during the 70-90's despite being piss poor. and there is the bernie quinlan factor. :(

watched port from afar, as many magpies may have from their sanfl days.....cahill, phillips, williams etc.

otherwise just love footy and one great thing we have at present (compared to the zoning days) is success and failure among almost all clubs. as long as no one is cheating or being heavily favoured almost every club does have a chance to climb the ladder and challenge, thanks to the salary cap & drafting.

Well at the moment I quite like Melbourne because they are so shit there's nothing really to hate them for.

Before jake king and dustin Martin came along I didn't mind Richmond so much. They were just so shit for so long, continuously gave their supporters hope then let them down, and Richo was such a cry baby it was such a crack up you couldn't help wishing them a bit of fortune the poor buggers.

At the opposite side, I actually hate St Kilda more than Carlton. It took a long time for me to accept Luke ball, and I still will never really see him as true collingwood. Riewoldt I just can't stand, (he's apparently a good footballer but I think he's weak as piss) With the departure of Milne, and the defection of dale Thomas I'm starting to come around again though. Not that I don't despise Carlton, it's just that I despise st Kilda more. Still will always hate Brisbane, although they are such losers now it's hard to find that much to hate about the current team.

Not really anyone, but I like the way Port are going about their business as of late.

Also since I worked for the Oakleigh Chargers in 2011 and 2012 I like to follow those boys individually.

I'm talking Tyson, Viney, JKH (Melbourne), Tomlinson, Greene, Jaksch (GWS), Arnot (Richmond), Curran, McDonald (NM), Pearce, Jong, Macrae (WBD), Ashby (Essendon), Billings (St.K), Cutler (Brisbane), Maginess (WCE) and Toohey (Geelong). Unfortunately I shared the pain of a losing Grand Final in 2011 with half of them, and then was fortunate enough to celebrate the jubilation of winning a Grand Final the very next year with the other half. So I like to follow all these guys closely.

It's interesting seeing these comments and how some of you "hate" clubs. As for me I don't "hate" other footy clubs. To me "hate" is a strong word, that means you hate people involved with that football club which isn't good. But that's how I see it and others will disagree or agree and that's fine.

Whilst I'm a proud Richmond supporter, I will watch any game involving any team - as long as it's a good game. There is more to AFL footy then Richmond or for that matter more to AFL footy then one club and some people out there won't watch any other games except their own clubs and that's fine, I guess I'm different. I just love footy and will watch any game.

My second team is Collingwood, you all know that and you all know the reason why. So for me it's Collingwood. For some reason I'm not keen on the WA teams, I just don't know why...........got no idea actually, maybe its because when I go to Subiaco (Paterson's Stadium) I get abused by the home supporters there, well not all of them - only some of them.

If truth be known.........I don't mind all Victorian teams. I mean bloody hell I was born in Perth and live in Perth but I sound like a Victorian. I guess I view Victorian clubs as the forefathers of footy and whilst other states such as South Australia and Western Australia have very strong footy history in my eyes I see Victoria as the "grandfather" of footy.

Anyways they are my thoughts.

Cheers and oh...........GO TIGE'S :)

My 2nd side is Ninthmond. I married into a Tigers family and I couldn't stand them initially. With time, I developed sympathy for their tragic circumstances. :) I always want them to win, if they're not playing us.

My second team has always been Carlton. They symbolize all that is good about football. (how many of you read that and believed it. My guess is zero)
In all honesty though I have a bit of a soft spot for the bulldogs. I think its because I admire the fact that their supporters stick by them even though they have not had any success for approximately 7 million years. Also I cant think of a bulldogs player who I have disliked.

Never understood why people have a soft spot for the Bulldogs. I can't stand clubs that stand for nothing. Unachievers get no sympathy from me.

I love the turn around at Port Adelaide. They were a basket case and they have come so far. They play exciting football and have great kids who stuck around when they could have taken the easy way out and jumped ship.

I don't mind the expansion teams yet, hate everyone else though.

Fair enough but you have to give their supporters some credit. It can't be easy supporting a team that never puts a smile on your face :)
I feel deeply for the supporters and admire their commitment. Fortunately they don't have many so I don't have to worry about many people:p

I have absolutely no time for the wannabee magpies of Port Power. I will never forget the arguments of their supporters for retaining the black and white and the obvious attempts whenever opportunity arises to go there or as close as they believe they can get away with. No, Port Power will never get any admiration or sympathy from me. They can suck a big fat one as far as I'm concerned.

It was Fitzroy for me, as a kid I always wished they could have done better (except against us). Great jumper, they were always battling and I really liked Roos and Pert as players.

I now live less than an hour from the Gold Coast and they are good to watch so they're the closest I have to a second team. Will hopefully make it to the Pies game this year and see Ablett n Pendles on the same field.

I wish I could like GWS as I'm a Canberra lad but they are tainted by Sheedy and I reject the notion that a city 3 hours south of Sydney is in any way a part of greater western Sydney. What bollocks.

Port are the best team to watch currently and I respect the history of the Port Adeaide footy club in the SANFL.

Everyone else can GAGF. ;)

I can assure that Footscray stands for plenty. Like us they represent the battlers and their most hated rival are the silvertails from Essendon. If winning premierships was the only criteria for being a club that stands for something, then Carlton would be a club you admire.

Port Adelaide have a long and proud history and I for one have no problem with them being allowed to wear their traditional jumper during heritage round. As long as they are not playing us, who cares?

I hated Brisbane with a passion after 02-03, but I've mellowed towards them in recent years. And I love watching the Suns. Living in Brisbane, 2 TV games each weekend are taken by the Lions and Suns, so they're hard to avoid. I am fond of them both, but this will end instantly once either of them start beating the Pies on a regular basis.

Similar situation to me. My wife's family are diehard Richmond supporters. My wife's grandfather played with Jack Dyer and her dad played reserves.

So, if I was to have a second side it would be Richmond. I want them to win for my wife and her family, but never against us.
