What pissed me off this week ?

A 6:45am text from an employee saying they were sick and couldn't make it in..

I'm a boomer when it comes to this stuff. Pisses me off that he didn't wait and call me (start time 8:30am).

Cause its very difficult to fake a sick voice.

Txt ftw

Yeah.. I mean going back to the time where I might have done something like that (which was very rare) I ended up ringing and still made it seem like I might not have been 100%.

You don't need to ring me and sound like you're on your last breath.. if anything, I'd appreciate it more if you rang me sounding reasonably OK but are telling me how shit you feel

Wouldnt you want more notice tho?

In my last job we had to call (and leave a msg) before 7.30am and also as Education support staff txt the faculty head. Easy peasy, plus they knew well ahead of schedule if they needed to cover any particular students or meetings

Appreciate the notice thing in particular jobs but for us, nah. Our staff are our staff - there's no call ups or rostered off people etc that can replace them

They did WHAT?
Yeah its a crunchy twister with a coleslaw type salad.

It's still alright but it's shit compared to the original

In times gone by I would ring the boss at 11pm saying wont be in tomorrow [bit pissed]thinking the night would go on and on, only to find myself in bed half an hour later and being first to work in the morning.

Watching Australian boxing the last 2 nights and hoping the rest of the world wasn't watching. Officiating was atrocious.
PS. Hoping everyone who reads our posts has a safe and happy xmas and new year.

Who cares about Australian boxing?

I watched the Muhammad Ali and George Foreman Rumble in the Jiungle fight on that SBS doco recently and that was the greatest fight of all time.

Ali won against the odds against Foreman with his rope a dope tactics, he should have retired after that as the King pf the World, he went on too long.

Or the Hagler v Hearns fight. Non stop action from the first bell.

Wanting to go see Spidey at the drive-in ( the last one in Sydney )

Pre-covid price = $12.50
Post-covid = $35

Yes i get inflation and yes, i get covid affecting things....but a 200% increase ???
You'll never get another cent from me campaigners, good luck in winter.

Well I do that's for sure, watched two Aussie cards in the last two nights. Last nights was a shambles though, the reffing was horrible, never seen anything like it. Stuffed up Harry Garside's debut (Olympic medallist) with a ridiculous stoppage and let Gallen be held in a headlock basically.

And Ali is certainly not the first boxer to go on too long, it's the norm actually, retiring early (with no comebacks) is the exception.

Probably the closest a huge world title fight has ever been to a street fight, absolute war.

Now your talking. Massive boxing era. Five of the best ever boxers fought each other, all classics.

Definitely The Greatest.
Australian boxing at this time is bloody exciting.

Check out Harding v Andres upset.

All this Djokovax crap, half Australia has covid what's one more.

It's more that a professional athlete (and not a well liked one) seems to be able to dodge the rules that we're all living under. Plus I think we're angry about the last two years and a scapegoat is an attractive option.

I'm Aussie thru and thru but, our tennis supporters have outpassed Yank golf followers as the worst in the world.
Sport media comparing womens records to mens, absolutely pathetic.

Did anyone know there were other Ozzies playing in the mens doubles, ****ing media do my head in.

Optus and the way how they have handled their autopayment system.
I had to ask for my phone account to be merged back with my nbn account because i was getting harassed by via both text and emails asking me to pay for my bill when it's already been paid for.
Watch out if you are upgrading or connecting to a choice plus plan. They force you into something you don't want to have happen.
