Next door has a double garage with a wooden slatted door. The garage has only been up a couple of years. Painters have come along to paint it , Tuesday two of them spent all day sanding it down with electric Sanders. Yesterday and today three painters have spent all day sanding it down. I only hope the customer has a fixed contract price for the job or they will be a couple of thousand in without any paint even touching the door !
Needless to say the noise is driving me nuts....

I've lost 2 houses through gambling, ads don't make you want to bet.
Agree though, up there with reality tv shows, life insurance, massage chairs, ladders, goes on and on and on.

We had a few very dented pewter mugs in MY trophy cabinet at one stage. I didn't throw them.

Painters have hired cheap labour for original sanding, not up to scratch, have had to do it themselves.

What I don't understand is why women feel the need to be equal to men in sports that were invented by men for men. Why don't they invent their own sports and make these popular if they want true equality?

I've got nothing against women playing footy. Go for it. I just don't see it as achieving equality by playing a sport that was designed by men for men. It's still conforming to patriarchy. Real equality would be promoting female-dominated (e.g. gymnastics), or at least non-gender biased (e.g. swimming) sports and female sports stars within those sports. With the risk of getting shot down for mentioning CrossFit Tia-Clair Toomey would be a great example. She has been world champion seven years in a row in a gender-neutral sport. Yet she hardly rates a mention in the media. She would have been a great person to promote and use as a role model for females. Swimming and tennis have succeeded in doing this. Women swimmers seem to be more easily recognised than male swimmers while Ash Barty has been a great role model promoted well in the media.

And nobody outside of the Cross fit community gives a shit about cross fit. Male or female. That's probably why nobody knows who she is. Despite your constant need to bring her up any chance you can I still have no clue who she is outside of being a cross fitter.

I think he is correct in that football was created by men to be played by men. This isn't controversial.
