They were ridiculously easy. How could he get the Bob Murphy one wrong.

* In fairness I wrote that before his second batch of questions and I didn’t know the Blue Lake one.
I am assuming Hard Quiz is made in Sydney and the host is a Sydneysider to. They seemed to have no idea it was the Norm Smith Medal calling it “ premiership medal” instead.
( I know you only get it if you do in fact win the premiership but it’s like not saying an actor won an Academy Award but they won an award)

Shouldn’t be surprised the dickhead even brought up the Grand Final

"Not all of these are throws" but we're going to show them anyway to pad out the segment. Also here's a few clips from a grand final 7 years ago to reinforce my point. We won't talk about players from any other club doing it either.

Pathetic as usual.

No offence, but why even post it on here?
He could have done some research, showing all clubs do it. Or just pot us instead. He's not an analyst, he's mainly the equivalent of a gossip columnist.
And posting this is exactly what Barrett/Nine want, and adds nothing to the thread.

I just love highlighting that we get to keep living rent free in Barrett’s head matey

Seriously, why doesn’t the club take some legal action against them. It is seriously bullying, the amount of garbage that constantly streams from Wilson, Barrett and co‘s mouth. If the Royals can sue Murdoch, why can’t Gordon act on behalf of the club and make a libel suit against Purple for instance, who is well known to have an agenda against Bevo and his employer. One club does it, they would all do it.

I don't believe in media agendas against certain clubs, and I thought barrett had put his agenda against us & bevo to rest, but this is a strange segment as well as the montagna one.

First of all if you admit they're not all throws, then why show them? Just show the throws. Or at least show the ones that you can actually see. Slow mo wouldn't go astray would it? Or would that show the fist making contact before the ball leaves the hand?

Second, for it to be incorrect disposal, you need prior opportunity, unless you do not make a genuine attempt to correctly dispose of the footy. Most of those grand final ones have no prior opportunity & look like genuine attempts to me. Strange none of the "handballs" by mitchell, kennedy, jack, hannerbery, parker or jones were shown. I suppose that would disrupt the narrative.

The funny thing about all of this, is that all of them are in some capacity, touching the hand/thumb/knuckle before the ball is released.

So, what defines a legal handball?

If it’s a slight touch, isn’t it technically still a handball? A throw is a throw. I just can’t see how these are classified as throws unless they are trying to add in that there’s not enough power coming from the hand.

What do you mean nice try they are talking about what was said on First Crack about how the boys Handball that’s a fact
Couldn't pay me to listen to Ads/Dunks podcast.. Even a short 30 second clip. Just can't bring myself to do it, gave it a shot once and pretty sure I fell asleep within the fist five minutes.

Some people shouldn't have podcasts.

The ball just needs to make contact with the hand, the power of the contact is totally irrelevant. If people are picking on the amount of power placed on the ball, then it means they know they are wrong, and are looking to bend the interpretation to enforce their own argument.

ALL teams throw at some points in every single game. To call out other teams, just reeks of denial of your own. People have to remember the game moves so fast, and its a game of 360 degrees. Even with four umpires, one degree more left or right could be an angle of difference whether a handball looks like a throw, or doesn't look like a throw. Umpire will not call anything unless it is clear cut, and they can see it. Fans seem to forget umpires don't have the benefit of different camera angles in slow motion.

I think we just get picked on more, because we are so skilled at getting the ball off fast, tricky angles, over the back of the head hand passes etc, that they look like throws on TV. Doubt we are much worse or better than any other team.

I think once people come up with a narative vs one team, the other fans follow suit and hold onto that narrative forever. So we could have a perfect season with zero throws, and still be called the biggest throwers in the league.

Here's a radical idea. Why not just get rid of handball altogether? Let anyone throw it. One hand, two hands, hand-offs, whatever. I honestly can't think of any really good reason why players should have to handball it, but I'm happy to be enlightened.

I'm serious that this idea should at least be explored. I know all the traditionalists will come shouting and clamouring to say it will totally alter the game but think about how good, exciting and fast-moving the game could become. Think about the sort of throws you could do (like a 50m quarterback throw). Think also about how clearances and congested play will be reduced. Think about how creative players can become without the need to handball. Think about how simpler the umpiring would become (currently one of the hardest games in the world to umpire I reckon).

And think about how pricks like those on Footy Classified will have to think up totally new hatchet jobs to get their vengeance on Bevo for being a grumpy old non-compliant bastard and rightfully telling the muckrakers to go f*ck themselves.

Fair enough I just come across it so just posted it up on here

It’s quite breathtaking when every team does it but it’s us being highlighted. Bevo will say, Watch your handballs, boys. Stand by for BT or Donkeyshaw to pepper the commentary with “how did he dispose of that?” “I saw at least three throws in that chain of handballs” and other pointed remarks. Umpires to hand out a couple of throwing frees and everyone will feel justified.
