Forget it

The club would have to finish dead last and then Judd would have to walk out on the eagles

To actually do any kind of deal this club would have to give up too much and would actually go backwards.

I am looking forward to seeing this thread on another board in 3 years time but with the name Delidio in it. You see he already is a Tiger and actually wants to play for us and with half a chance might be just as good. Forget worrying about what we dont have...there is more joy in what we do have.

Don't want him
Great player but would cost too much
Sometimes getting a player like him can rip out the soul of a club when you have to give up one of the players that have been with the side for such a long time.

would have to give up way to much, unless Judd told WC that the only team he wanted to go to was Richmond and nobody else, and we could give as little as possible and **** WC over because they dont want to lose him for nothing. Would never happen but can only hope

Obviously would love to have him, but it's a pipedream.I think we've spent too much time and energy developing our list geared towards youth and we should keep going that way. Obviously you need experienced players to compliment the kids, but it would mean giving up too much for just one player...and let's face it as good as Judd is, he's still only only one out of 22.

West Coast have plenty of midfielders but were one tall forward off winning a premiership last year. Stafford for Judd - straight swap. West Coast get their tall forward, we get a gun midfielder, Judd gets to come home, Stafford gets a career extension. Everyone's a winner in this deal. :thumbsu: ;) Hell, we could even pay over the odds and throw in a tall West Australian defender to bolster their backline.

mate i know your probably kidding, but regardless of what they need, stafford dont cut the mustard when your talking about one of the most gifted youngsters (yes he is still young) to play the game! to get judd at punt rd i suspect youd need to hand over the one and only Nathan G Brown and Matthew Richardson. even that might not do as Brown is still recovering from injury and richo is at the tail end of his career...but they sure could do with a tall forward
judd-->Richmond = not happening
sorry!

Can't see Judd joinign richmond EVER< he wants to play finals so that cancels richmond out :D

If he ever comes back to Victoria he'll obviously play for the likes of St. Kilda :thumbsu: to replace Harvey when he retires at the end of 2007 season

I assume you ain't been following AFL for very long. Haven't you yet worked out that it has become very cyclic and that teams don't tend to stay on the top or the bottom for very long.

When once upon a time a club could bottom out for a decade or more, I'd say peak-to-pits-to-peak is only about seven or eight years nowadays, if a team plays their cards right.

Even if Judd joined Essendon (for arguments sake) at the start of 2008, he would probably play in as many finals as he would if he joined St Kilda in that year.

If a team like St Kilda doesn't keep it's eye on maintaining something resembling a youth policy, they could (once again) be the 'Essendon' of 2010, and Juddy would still have four or five years left of his career to endure.

if he goes anywhere it will be melbourne, the team he has barracked 4 all his life

the bombers are out of the equasion as they wont make finals for at least anotyher 5-10 yrs

At this point in time I'd say Cogs, Krak and our first round draft pick (and then we'd need a $1m to cover his annual wage!). The Eagles would probably ask for Deledio.

Judd will not leave the Eagles, could not blame him either. Would expect them to be playing finals for the next 5-6 years with there current list & if they manage their team right could be even longer.
I am happy with the directions of the Tige's at the moment, building our own team from the ground up. All these kids learning together is better than throwing in some overrated has beens from other clubs, such as Essendon & the Kangaroos have done over the last couple of years. Thankfully we have stopped this at the RFC, the older players we have picked up have plenty of football left in them & they also have a role to play while the kids are learning their trade. The best thing about the likes of Simmonds & P.Bowden is they have'nt cost the club much & are putting in some pretty good displays at the moment.
