CAP BREACHES

I believe that we will be excluded from 2 and 3rd rounds and the preseason, plus the suspened fine from 99. ITs a bit late to take away our draft pix, they had to have done it before the trading period, or at worst the 31 oct deadline

You wish!

Essendon and Melbourne will burn down AFL House if the serial salary cap cheaters don't get anything less than 1st/2nd round suspensions for the next 2 years

But it wasn't just Richmond, it was every club in the league. Would West Coast have traded Chick for effectively Pick 8? Would Hawthorn have traded Everitt for Picks 6 & 22?

Even Mick Malthouse said they can't take away the picks because it would be "moving the goalposts"

My tip is a fine, and exclusion from the first 3 rounds of next year's draft or something like that - as unfair as that is. If the AFL hadn't gone on an end of season junket maybe this mess could have been sorted out before the trading period.

I'd say there's at least one club who wouldn't mind. ;)

I do agree with what you've said. This decision had to have been made before the trading period started for it to be fair.

Excuse me, just have to go and work out what number Brendan Goddard should get.

Ken Wood

I believe that Ken Wood used to work for Ernst & Young who also were/are (not sure of current status) the auditor of the Carlton Football club including the salary cap. He was not an auditor though.

Put it this way if John Howard and co were charged with a serious offence (not actually found guilty) on the eve of an election there would be hell to pay.
As opposed to after the election if/when they won? Pretty apt analogy really. Both committed the ofences and both evading any penaltry thus far.

Make that two!

If #5 becomes #3, the Lions would be quite happy, I would imagine.

Steven Salopek would indeed be a handy pick up for the Lions! He can take Dessie Headland's No. 1. guernsey.
