I think you need to understand what a royal Commission can and cannot do. Education is your friend good sir!!!
A royal commission cannot make formal findings of civil liability or criminal guilt in respect of individuals or organisations. It cannot award compensation or impose criminal penalties (other than penalties for contempt of its proceedings).

This is one of the things I hate about subreddits like /auspolitics. I would have posted that direct quote but because the article itself didn't headline it, it would get deleted instantly.
Lots of people won't read the whole thing and never know he made such an insane equivalency, and that's how we end up with such terrible leaders.

You only need to go back 5 years to Black Summer 2019/2020 to see the same in this country. Climate driven bushfire catastrophe and you’ve got Murdoch, Sky ‘News’ and the LNP trying to blame it on “woke late sipping greenies” stopping backburning and preventing fuel reduction.
When any natural or human disaster happens the right wing immediately run to their playbook and blame it on “lefties” anyway they can.
Massive bushfire? “Greenies stopped backburning”
Plane crash? “Woke female pilots”
Bridge collapse? “DEI mayor”
Viral pandemic? “Dirty Asians” (or it’s all a hoax perpetrated by the WHO”
Any crime? “Foreign migrants”
