Harvey is a ball player when it suits him. He's also repeatedly proven to be a sniping dog with little man syndrome

I just don't like seeing players like him in a role that detracts from the spectacle.

That's just crap. We're not playing the game for it to be a spectacle. We're playing the game to win. By assigning a guy to limit the opposition's best players from having an impact on the game we're attempting to do that.

Maybe if Brad Scott tried that North would be better placed, rather than perenially mid-table.

He's a midfield tagger or a small defender. It's not his job to kick goals normally. It's his job to stop his man getting the ball and generally put players off their game.

If he was doing something wrong the umpires would stop him more often

Liam Picken is a fantastic tagger and player and I can never recall any dirty acts, reports or suspensions from him. Yet some North supporters are acting like it was Picken digging his elbow into Harvey's throat.
Picken has missed something like only 10 games since he debuted, hardly a 'shit' player to keep his spot in the team for 6 years.

Many of our lot just don't overly like taggers since the Crowley incident with Freo supporters still whinging about it and actively trolling our board since has left a bitter taste for many of our posters about taggers, especially niggling ones like Picken. It's not so much he's a dirty player, its more so he goes the man rather the ball and it edges a few of our posters off a bit, for example Greenwood and Gibson tag, but still go the ball at our club.

That's because there hasn't been any. Picken was reported for striking Deledio once in 2009 and that was dismissed. He's not a dirty player, just a tough, disciplined tagger.

Harvey on the other hand has been suspended several times because he acts like a spoiled brat when things don't go his way.

Never been suspended, and he's all of a sudden a useless, filthy tagger because Boomer lost his shit (again). All great players get tagged, Harvey has been a wonderful player for a hell of a long time, as plenty of reasonable North fans have conceded he should know better. If he keeps doing this crap its his legacy that will suffer. I've never seen Ryan Griffen do what Harvey did, it was incredibly stupid and terrible timing. North are capable of winning finals, he might have made it a lot harder

Point being that every team has or has had very good taggers, and whilst at times you might think it should be "open season" on them, I know I have over the years, it can't be. Elbow to the throat is not a good look, particularly after recent events.
Shame to see him miss finals for this, 2 weeks should cover it off.

Mind you, if he had done it to a Hawk player i'd be calling for prison time. Jokes......................but not really.
