Narc - watched a fair bit of it. 2002 movie starring Ray Liota. Enjoyed it.

The Counsellor - Love Pitt, and Fasbender played a good part too.

Tenent - Mind bending 2 and 1/2 hours which will require subtitles and your full attention, the pay off was a
bit disjointed like the film itself, loved the visuals and the sound track. 3 and a 1/2 stars.

Soul - Ambitious from Pixar, I really enjoyed this, some of the characters were strangely drawn concepts.
Was this made for kids ? Can't see them liking this one. 3 and a 1/2 stars

Bone Tomahawk - Great start, I was pumped to see where this one went, then it kind of petered out
and drags you along for hours until a 20 minute bone chilling ending.
Fans of Kurt Russell can place this one in there cult stack with his other great movies.
4/5 stars

Rouge - Aussie Crocodile horror flick with Sam Worthington, Stephen Curry, John Jarratt, and a surprise casting of Liz out of Wentworth.
Nicely set up monster flick, pretty dull though. Kakadu was the show stealer and the relentless Croc and its shear size was cool, which has you barracking for it to take out some of the painful characters, which it does with pure precision.
2/5 stars
Love the reviews but just gotta point out Rogue is very different to Rouge.

Agree. But its pretty simple i would have thought- ie. dont watch it.

I didnt wanna touch the new Ghostbusters with a 10 foot clown pole, so i didnt. As for Indy, ive only seen Last Crusade, so again, remake doesnt effect me in the slightest. Go for your boat- do a transexual Indiana for all i care, cause i couldnt care less.

/the only issue it DOES cause is that it takes the place of other movies that could be on a the cinema, rather than the remake crap they shoot out, cause they've run out of ideas.
yep i never watched the female ghostbusters.

It’s not even that bad, it’s just largely bland and forgettable and not particularly funny. The only people that find it offensively bad were already offended by the fact it involved women.

Not sure why a reboot with women rustled their jimmies while a reboot with kids that’s just Stranger Things with a Ghostbuster dressing seems fine.

Yet original and awesome most female lead movies such as Annihilation were rejected for cinema release and straight to streaming.

Which goes back to studio reluctance to try new things. Easier to slap a known badge on a product than create something from scratch. Flipping the roles lets then pretend it’s a fresh idea.

To be fair, Annihilation was probably a bit too obtuse for mainstream audiences at the best of times. Arrival did well in cinemas, so did Gravity. Simpler concepts but still smarter than the average blockbuster.

True - it’s just a bit frustrating that there is little risk being taken.

So it’s bad.

The women thing eh doesn’t bother me too much if the movie was any good, the problem with ghostbusters was that was such a good movie and very nostalgic for a lot of people who would have watched it when they were younger and seen repeats every now and again throughout the years.

The remake is a full blown turd, that’s the issue.

Rose Island (2020) really enjoyed this one, it has a similar feel to The Boat that Rocked (2009) and imo it works for the same reason, it's all been a bit dressed up for cinema but there are still fantastic true stories driving both movies, TBTR was more fictional but in the case of Rose Island its crazy just how close to the real events it was able to stay.

Always Sunny did a pretty funny take on Hollywood's change in strategy.

Yes, the film industry has changed, but even if you somehow think it's a bad thing to be more inclusive and represent actual society (not just straight, young white dudes), you have to understand that it's actually a commercial decision as much as anything.

12mins - 17mins of this clip:

Wow what an absolutely great movie. Its hard to find anything to really fault with it. Probably the best movie I have seen in 12 months

Felt like a try hard Gallipoli to me.
It's been a long time since I saw Gallipoli so I can't really comment

I just thought the storyline kept ticking over without ever dragging. Some of the lighting and visuals like when he runs through the village after getting knocked out by the snipper were awesome. And overall the storyline just had me gripped until the end

Im a big Indiana Jones fan and think they should not re do it all. black, white, green, man, woman, beast.

Leave it as H. Ford and dont re do it.

If anything have a spin off with a black man/woman and refer to Indy in it but they have their own new adventures

if they make a remake, i wont be watching it, its only Harrison Ford who should be Indy, i dont count The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles

i wont watch the new Ghostbusters either, the couple shots i have seen didnt even look funny

They should do another Star Wars trilogy. Han is African American and Luke is a Transvestite still chasing after his sister.

I'm joking around here, but would love the outrage.

It's fiction FFS.

Finished Angelas Ashes.

Obviously a fairly depressing film but portrayed well by the cast including the children. Would have liked some writing at the end of the movie tho shedding some light on what happened to Frankie in America and also his father. Assuming the latter just died drunk in a gutter somewhere but id still like to know. To google i go...
